Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33958965 find out how much your county jail gets per person per day from your taxes.... spend a night there and eat a few meals, you will know where your tax dollars dont go. Yeah thats the catch.. Your tax dollars pay to buy office equipment for for state institutions for retail price.. which are produced in prison at 10 cents an hour.. where does the money go? all DOCS transactions.. |

Prisons dont put people behind bars, the justice system does. Private prisons have NO control over it, and there is no reason to believe why the courts would want to put more people behind bars they dont get paid more for a guilty sentence. This thread/article is typical conspiritard insanity. |

Its pure profit for everyone else when someone gets pinched and put away and only the regular folk pay for it all. |

Hell we could sell our prisoners to china for medical experimentation and shit. Lot of money making possibilities out there. |

| MHz User ID: 34243878 03/11/2013 10:21 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I guess it is the patriotic duty of many American to turn themselves in as potential terrorists and really expand the need for facilities and staffed by federal pen inmates as they already know how the rules get applied. There you go, economy up and running on 8 cylinders (in a v12) You are more likely to see open prison where only the outside gate is wired shut. If you are rich enough your family can come in for meals and even full-time accommodation if outside the walls means death. The cities getting ring roads could be fenced off in no time to keep people in rather than out as the dreaded prison city run by the inmates and that probably means no formal elections. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19099851 Ciavarella was accused of wrongfully incarcerating youths as part of a deal with the for-profit PA and Western PA Child juvenile detention centers that replaced some older state-run facilities. In February, Ciavarella was convicted in 12 of 39 counts of crimes such as racketeering, money laundering and tax evasion in connection with his acceptance of almost $1 million from Robert Mericle, the builder of the detention centers in question. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19099851 Doing 7 years or more for pot possession while white collar crime is never prosecuted to the extent that all the crooks go to jail. That is to keep the number at full capacity so the shareholders get the maximum return of their wall street shares. The guards and prisoners are both nothing but meat to the admin. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33958965 find out how much your county jail gets per person per day from your taxes.... spend a night there and eat a few meals, you will know where your tax dollars dont go. Franklin County, Ohio spends .80 per inmate on meals. They are only required to give them 8 oz of meat per day. It used to cost $1.10 and the new Sheriff cut the size of their meals even more. They starve their inmates. You pay extra for commissary, which they raise the prices for profit. Most are too poor to afford it and just do without. They come out looking like skeletons. Most are kids arrested on petty drug charges. They treat them like dirt. Last Edited by PBJ11 on 03/11/2013 10:55 PM PJ |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19099851 This thread/article is typical conspiritard insanity. kinda apologistic You mean kind of the truth? Truth hurts, eh? You mean you don't understand how the private prison industry lobbies to maintain the draconian drug laws that ensure their institutions are filled to capacity???? Do you suppose they just build their facilities and cross their fingers that the congressman will pass laws that ensure people are targetted for incarceration and long mandatory prison sentences??? Do you think the alcohol & pharmaceutical industries just sit back and crosses their fingers that marijuana will not be legalized? Come on... Where there is money to be made there is lobbying and big business is in bed with the politicians... You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours is the policy.... Campaign donations, payoffs, appointments to special positions within companies once politicians end their political careers.... They are all in cahootz.... Nothing happens by chance.
