I BELIEVE that our Nation was founded on self-evident Truths, namely, “that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, and that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

I BELIEVE that, when more and more power is drawn into Washington, it necessarily reduces the individual liberty of every American.

I BELIEVE that free people in America, working hard and responsible for themselves and their families, have produced unprecedented prosperity—and our abundant opportunity has in turn drawn people from across the globe to strive to achieve the American dream.

I do NOT support ObamaCare. I do NOT support having the federal government come between me and my doctor.

I do NOT support socializing healthcare in America. I understand that, in every other nation that has socialized health care, the result has predictably been poorer quality healthcare, a crushing tax burden, scarcity and rationing, and complete government control of individual medical decisions.

I COMMEND the Attorneys General who have sued to stop ObamaCare.

I SUPPORT the defeat of each and every Member of Congress who voted for ObamaCare, disregarding the overwhelming and unequivocal opposition of the American people.

I SUPPORT the repeal of ObamaCare.

I AM COMMITTED to defending our Constitution and our freedom, so that our children and grandchildren can enjoy the blessings of liberty that are the foundation of our Nation.

Why do you say Ted Cruz is from Canada?
He is a breath of fresh air and EXACTLY what this country needs right now...
He has a spine and it shows

from his bio [link to www.tedcruz.org]

Ted’s calling to public service is inspired largely by his first-hand observation of the pursuit of freedom and opportunity in America. Ted’s mother was born in Delaware to an Irish and Italian working-class family; she became the first in her family to go to college, graduated from Rice University with a degree in mathematics, and became a pioneering computer programmer in the 1950s.

Ted’s father was born in Cuba, fought in the revolution, and was imprisoned and tortured. He fled to Texas in 1957, penniless and not speaking a word of English. He washed dishes for 50 cents an hour, paid his way through the University of Texas, and started a small business in the oil and gas industry. Today, Ted’s father is a pastor in Dallas.

In the Senate, Ted serves on the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Armed Services; the Committee on the Judiciary; the Special Committee on Aging; and the Committee on Rules and Administration.

Before being elected, Ted received national acclaim as the Solicitor General of Texas, the State’s chief lawyer before the U.S. Supreme Court. Serving under Attorney General Greg Abbott, Ted was the nation’s youngest Solicitor General, the longest serving Solicitor General in Texas, and the first Hispanic Solicitor General of Texas.

In private practice in Houston, Ted spent five years as a partner at one of the nation’s largest law firms, where he led the firm’s U.S. Supreme Court and national Appellate Litigation practice.
