whens the last time you saw a cat catch a mouse?? cats are no longer hunting!!

My cat catches, kills, and then brings headless corpses of rats, mice, rabbits, birds... at least once a week.

So yawn... stfu.

We are not like ancient Egyptians anymore with large stock piles of grain that need protecting by admired felines.

my mom and stepdad have three cats at their cabin, they kill mice, squirrels, birds, all kinds of shit, all the time...

My cat threw up four mice on the deck Monday.

After hearing about the poisoning of cats in the Village of the Arts, I felt a reminder of the positive attributes of cats is in order.

1. One doesn't have rats and mice. Being so close to the river, rodents are in abundance; many prey equals many predators.

2. One needn't worry about snakes, who "run" from cats.

My cat is a killah! He kills birds and mice. And since he is an indoor/outdoor cat who is fed on command by my husband who basically worships him (I kno, I know. I'm a dog lover) he actually carries his kills over to the stray family and let's them eat it. So cute.

My neighbor's cat likes me...she leaves dissected rats on my porch.

My crazy cat who has all the food she wants still brings me mice after she is done torturing them and playing with them. She presents them before me as little sick gifts. Birds too. I just scratch her ears and pat her head and then dispose of the gift when she is not looking.

I live in countryside and my cats still hunt mouses.

My cat catches them still but I do live on a farm. One logical explanation could be there is a lack of mice don't blame the cat.

Kittens have to be trained to hunt by their mother. How many cats grow up outside, with their mothers till they are at least a year old, near a field with plenty of mice?
