If the Bible said the pope in the year 2013 would be peter the roman, you could count on it as sure as you can count on the sun rising in the east (even more so). No need to be astonished or dismayed. |

No one can make an immediate or definite connection on the very night his name is announced. You can bet, within the next week, people will be digging deep into his personal background looking for any connection, however small it may be! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 9636450 United States 03/13/2013 12:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would also suggest, that the name "Petrus Romanus" may have nothing to do with the new Pope, his name, or his background... Unlike all the other listings on the Prophecy of Popes, all of them having describing something related to the Pope that corresponds to that part of the list.... this is the first and only one to actually list a name as its "description" ... Therefore, I would suggest to everyone that perhaps "Petrus Romanus" is merely a description of what this new Pope may be like. He may be like Peter the Apostle himself, the first Pope and he may take a strong position on various issues, almost a roman like stance... Or it could also very well be that the list itself is off on its count! It did include a number of "anti-popes"; and perhaps it did not count them accurately. Only history and time will reveal whether the list is accurate with Pope Francis I. |

A simple lifestyle has contributed to his reputation for humility. He lives in a small apartment, rather than in the palatial bishop's residence. He gave up his chauffeured limousine in favor of public transportation, and he reportedly cooks his own meals." [link to en.wikipedia.org] One might say this man lived a very humble life as Cardinal, much like Peter the Apostle himself was rather quite humble. How might he be as Pope? |

There is nothing in the link that says anything about his name being changed. Translating the article on Google gives the following... "Habemus papam - He is elected, the Pope! It Lovely night has come. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 76, is the new pope. My beloved Pope Benedict XVI is the last true Pope on this earth. Peter the Roman, is My Peter, the original apostle who will rule My Church from the Heavens under the command of My Eternal Father. Then, when I come to reign, at the Second Coming, he will rule over all of God’s children when all religions will become one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
