without headphones I couldn't hear the low ranges but with the on, I can hear them all

People need to realize that some headphones cannot actually play certain high end and low end frequencies in this test.

Stupid thing is that I've got tinnitus, hyperacusis and can't hear someone talking to me across a busy room, yet I can hear this shit.

30 - 12000. Age 52. You have to use headphones as this made a huge difference. I could only hear 100 - 10000 on my laptop speakers.

how you get it to work?

This test is really lo-fi . Mainly because the human ear has different sensitivities over the audio spectrum. We are most sensitive to sound in the 1KHz range. and least sensitive in the upper and lower bands. In order for the test to be more accurate each frequency should be weighted to the Fletcher-Munson curve. You can approximate the curve by turning the volume up at higher and lower frequencies. Also, as mentioned, headphone and soundcard responses vary.

yeah I clicked threw all the sound samples and not a single sound came out last I checked 4 years ago I had perfect hearing I would guess this website does not like firefox

I was told from a hearing test at my Optitians that I had 30% hearing loss in my one ear. never did book an appointment to get it checked out properly.
Will do the test when I get 5 mins quiet here, it may kick my behind into gear.

I can hear them all, which is surprising since I grew up with a dad that had significant hearing loss and my spouse has significant hearing loss and everything is always loud, unless I'm up by myself.

I never could hear very well though my whole life, one ears worse than the other.

just went back and turned it all the way up - now I hear the 20 hz.

Very weird, though - just realized I can hear the 20,000 and 19,000 and 16,000 but not the 17,000 and 18,000. ?

I could hear all of them. I do have very good speakers plugged in mind, and my hearing is very good, ( I often sit and listen to bats and badger scarers scare the crap out of me.

I've fired too many guns without hearing protection...


100-12k is all I can manage.
