Anonymous Coward User ID: 20541213 United States 03/14/2013 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A Protestant minister took his anti-Catholic book out of print because he realized just because things are similar, it does not make them the same. I bolded part of his comments. _ _ _ If pagan religions resemble Christianity in any form (and they do!) it is either because the pagans borrowed from the true faith, because the True God planted a seed of the true faith in their culture, or because the Enemy did so for his own designs. Thus, any Protestant (and, yes, self-styled "Bible Christians" are Protestants, since they reject the only Christian Church that existed for the first 15 centuries after Christ) who calls the Catholic Church "pagan" needs to look in mirror, for by any rational measure you and your religion are jus as "pagan". But educated Christians know that the secularists' charge of "pagan origins" and "pagan corruption" holds no more water than that of the fundamentalists. Similarities between ancient pagan religions and Catholicism do not mean Catholicism has been "paganized" any more than the similarities between paganism and even more basic Christian symbols, beliefs, and practices mean that *all* Christianity has been "paganized". The author of "Babylon Mystery Religion" - one of the main, original sources alleging the "paganizing" of Catholicism from which *many* fundamentalist authors have drawn - changed his mind after learning the facts, displaying his intellectual honesty - his honest search for truth. If the Protestant finds *more* faux "paganism" in Catholicism that is only because *they are missing so much of Christianity*. John notes in his gospel that Christ did and said many things that were not written down. Paul commands his subjects to obey the oral Tradition he gave them. Protestants, who reject oral Tradition, have no idea what these things are. (In fact, as is clear from any holistic reading, the epistles are "occasional" in nature, specifically *not* covering the important things all Christians knew and did, but only there errors and the things they did *wrong*. The facts from the documentation we have from the earliest Christian congregations is that they were Catholic in all respects - they celebrated Mass, they honored the mother of God, they prayed for their God; the seed at least of every Catholic doctrine and dogma was present since all originate with the apostles. The honest seeker of truth who examines the material available will realize these things, as Cardinal Newman did.) I'll repeat one long quote from Rev. Woodrow: "My reason for pulling the original book out of print was quite basic: Citing similarities between Catholic practices and pagan practices proves nothing if there is no actual connection. One could take virtually anything—even McDonald’s golden arches—and do the same: The Encyclopedia Americana (article: "arch") says the use of arches was known in Babylon as early as 2020 B.C. As Babylon was called "the golden city" (Is. 14:4, KJV), can there be any doubt about the origin of the golden arches? As silly as this is, this is the type of proof that has been offered again and again about the supposed pagan origins of the Catholic Church. It is the same method atheists use in seeking to discredit the Bible and Christianity altogether—not just the Catholic Church. By this method, one also could condemn Protestant and Evangelical denominations such as the Assemblies of God, Baptist, Church of Christ, Lutheran, Methodist and Nazarene: Basic things such as prayer and kneeling in prayer would have to be rejected, as pagans knelt and prayed to their gods. Water baptism would have to be rejected, for pagans had numerous rites involving water. The list could go on and on. By this method, even the Bible would have to be rejected as pagan. All of the following practices or beliefs mentioned in the Bible were also known among pagans: raising hands in worship, taking off shoes on holy ground, a holy mountain, a holy place in a temple, offering sacrifices without blemish, a sacred ark, a city of refuge, bringing forth water from a rock, laws written on stone, fire appearing on a person’s head, horses of fire, the offering of first fruits, and tithes."... Anonymous Coward User ID: 35024731 United Kingdom 03/14/2013 04:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Doc Marquee has also written a book, which is being published by American Focus Publishing Company, entitled "Secrets of the Illuminati". While this topic has been explored before, no author has been able to bring a truly occultic angle to the discussion. In other words, Marquee looks at the plan to bring in the New World Order from the viewpoint of a former witch. In his book, Marquee includes a chapter entitled, "Is It Catholicism Or Witchcraft?" At the beginning of this chapter, Marquee makes a quite startling statement, "I must emphatically state that Catholicism and witchcraft are one and the same...there is no difference between witchcraft and Catholicism." Then, Marquee examines Catholicism and witchcraft from the vantage point of a former witch. Quoting: TXGal4Truth Marquee identifies several critically important areas in which the practice of Roman Catholicism and witchcraft are identical. We will first list these areas of commonalty and then comment specifically upon them. These common areas are: The altar The golden goblet known as a chalice. Colored candles used in services The use of incense. The use of bells in the ceremony. Praying to statues. The use of Latin in services. The use of a golden scepter in giving a large blessing to the people. Common belief in Purgatory The common belief in the host. Common belief in the five elements. Now, let us examine each of these areas of commonalty: 1. The altar in every Catholic church is prominently positioned at the front of the church. The "Mysteries of the Mass" are celebrated on and around the altar. In witchcraft, also, the altar is similarly used for three purposes: To practice certain metaphysical rites, such as the casting of certain spells or to honor occult deities. To hold the tools of magic. To perform human sacrifice. The Roman Catholic altar also holds their tools of their magic, and they daily perform human sacrifice. Remember, we are looking at this subject through the eyes of a former high-level witch who is now a born-again Christian. This daily human sacrifice is performed according to the false belief in "transubstantiation", the belief that the priest magically transforms the wafer into Jesus' body and the wine into His blood. Marquee states, "In other words, every day Christ is being reincarnated and then sacrificed.. they perform daily their human sacrifice in which Christ is ...sacrificed for their sins." It is shocking to realize that the Roman Catholics are daily performing human sacrifice in a manner similar to that of witches throughout the centuries. 2. The Catholic Golden Goblet, or Chalice. "It is this cup that the wine poured into it becomes the...literal blood of Christ. When a witch does a human sacrifice, after the victim's throat is sliced open, the spilled blood will be collected in a chalice, just as the Catholics do, except the witch's chalice holds the real thing." In Satan's eyes, the Catholics are performing the same rite as the witches. 3. "Candles were introduced to the Catholic mass about 320 A.D. There is no Scriptural reasons for them, unless... you are a practicing witch. Below is a list of different colored candles a witch would use throughout the year. See if you can recall any of these colors used during a Catholic mass: White -- Purity, Truth, Sincerity Red -- Strength, Health, Vigor, Sexual Love Light Blue -- Tranquillity, Understanding, Patience Dark Blue -- Impulsiveness, Depression, Change Green -- Finance, Fertility, Luck Gold/Yellow -- Persuasion, Charm, Confidence Brown -- Hesitation, Uncertainty Pink -- Honor, Love, Morality Black -- Evil, Loss, Discord, Confusion Purple -- Tension, Ambition, Power Silver-Gray -- Cancellation, Stalemate Orange -- Encouragement, Stimulation Greenish-Yellow -- Sickness, Anger, Jealousy "Using these colored candles and the right spells, a witch can cause anything to happen...our Catholic friends are not only using these occult tools, they also pay for them when they go to various statues and light...candles." 4. "Incense is a constant tool that is used by priests. They will take a philter (incense burner), walk around the altar, and then wave it out toward the crowd with an invocation...Not only do witches use incense, but they will consecrate their altar and their fellow witches in the exact way the Catholics do..." Centuries ago the church & state (empire) were ONE and they manipulated doctrine/teachings accordingly to achieve political agendas and to control the population. Things were changed/omitted/censored accordingly to suit the needs of those who held power. Knowledge & wisdom that would have served to empower the masses was persecuted and destroyed because it was perceived to be a threat to the control structure.
