CFTC to investigate London Gold Fix
The Wall Street Journal is reporting an investigation into manipulation of the gold and silver fix by the London bullion banks.

Some may recall that in 2004 NM Rothschild quit the fixing after almost 200 years as the master of the gold trade.

As a dealer it has always fascinated me that gold bugs scream fraud and manipulation but yet continue to pile into a crime scene.

Re: CFTC to investigate London Gold Fix
I read that the Rofschilds stopped trading metals when they got wind of the 'salted gold'. As somebody in the industry is this something you have ever come across?
I don't think so,
he's up there with the others laying low,
vying with those who you've traded your life to to bless your soul,

Re: CFTC to investigate London Gold Fix
I would say “They” could be the source of the salted gold. Too much history there to abandon it at the start of a bull market.
I have come across dodgy bars of gold, in the bush of SE Asia, and knew what to expect anyway. Buying in more recent times I have seen a few coins and believe they were sincere mistakes rather than malicious intent.

An interesting side bar on the tungsten gold is the reports of bars carrying the Brinks Matt serial numbers form the London Robbery in the 80’s. I will try to find the link.
