But, at least here in my state as of late I've noticed something odd.. For example, a jar of banana peppers (which I have a serious relationship with) has gone down in price like .30 cents, and the crap cereal my kids beg for like Lucky Charms (junk food weakness) have gone up in price by I swear close to a dollar.. One example I can think of but there have been other similarities ... Peculiar indeed Quoting: MrsCrickets We try to eat 100% organic and eat meat twice a week. We buy from our local co op as often as possible. We have seen the price on food go up pennies. One of the milk brands has had their price rise to $6 a gallon, only drink one a week. The grass fed ground beef has gone up a dollar since we started shopping there a year ago. On the occasion we dont make it to the co op, we find out selves with options like harris teeter, food lion, lowes food, and walmart. I do not enjoy supporting any of the aforementioned stores. With that being said, the food at those stores is expensive as fuck! I am referring to the non organic and organic food as being ridiculously expensive. The organic foods are .25 to $2 cheaper at the co op. In summary, I cannot vogue for the price increase at most cookie cutter supermarkets, other than they are more expensive than co op shopping. I can say co op shopping has seen a small increase over the past year, but nothing like what it seems GMO and HFCS foods are (or seem to be from my perspective). |

I never said I buy it, but I used to, I'll admit that.. When i was pregnant with my last, its all i thought about, and yes, i caved.. i couldnt afford it now if i wanted to at $5 a box. The price jump is hard to miss when it's the first thing I see when I walk in the store, But I do let them eat chocolate chip granola bars you anal asshole... What do you have to say about that? I have the healthiest kids I know.. I've never even had to give them antibiotics and that includes our 16 year old 4.0 GPA daughter ;) Sorry for the hostility, but I don't take kindly to people questioning my parenting, especially when it comes to eating healthy, when its the only thing right I have ever done in my life. |

I'll tell you what's sad, we have a brand of milk we buy called Smiths, local farm, and its sold at a small store across the street... At $5 a gallon. I went into Aldi a few weeks ago because they have grapes and blackberries for $1 a pound ... Looked at their milk, which was only $2.89 a gallon, and also the only milk in town made with rSBT cows :/ |
