I know last year the farms here in kentucky dont use GMO...
I inquired about some seeds...
For the record i passed on the seeds..
It was for personal use anyways :)

But it wouldnt suprise me if other places used GMO's

But i assure u all cigs contain nicotene...

I roll my own... And if i have to buy a pack its 100's and i tear the filter off...

And i got nicotene stains on my fingers...

Reason people dont hve nicotene stains is cos of the filters...

U can always check the filters after smoking... They are stainsd yellow.

I've been a smoker for 25 years and ALWAYS smoked filtered cigarettes and always got nicotined stained fingers.

but recently they removed the nicotine & tar label off the sides. and I wondered why.

started looking/asking around about why the ingredients label on the side of the pack of smokes is missing and thats when I followed the GMO tobacco trail.

AND my fingers haven't had nicotine stains for about 5-8 years, its hard to pinpoint it exactly.

No placebo effect is strong enough to prevent your average smoker from freaking right the fuck out if they surreptitiously removed the nicotine from our cigarettes. Re: GMO Tobacco
GM cigarette boasts no nicotine
A genetically modified cigarette which is virtually nicotine-free is likely to be on sale in the UK within a year.

Smokers report that it tastes like conventional products, according to the American firm behind the technology.

It claims the cigarette will provide a non-addictive alternative and could help millions kick the habit.

But experts warned that the nictine-free product would still be damaging to health, while anti-GM campaigners warned that it would lead to widespread cultivation of GM tobacco, with devastating implications for the environment.

Anti-smoking charities also warned that coming up with 'less harmful' cigarettes could well encourage and not reduce smoking.

ok let me rephrase this :

I smoked for 25 years, Im female, and I used to have to bleach my smoking fingers because of NASTY nicotine stains.

now for about the last 5-8 years nothing, my fingers are clean and my smoking habits have not changed one bit.

I remember in the 80's my dad's fingers used to be soooo yellow it was gross.

now I don't see nobody with yellow fingers.

I am talking about canadian tobacco, which could be different from american tobacco .. I don't think so though because its the same corporate companies.

I googled it - as you suggested, and did not find anything to lead me to believe that the US farmers are planting GM-ed Tobacco - it isn't even listed til the bottom of the page ... it mentioned that China started planting a GMO variety of tobacco in '86 and Europe started planting it in '94 but it is hardly "world-wide" or a widespread practice and only being used by certain tobacco distributors or cig mfgs

I smoke American Spirit - no stains - ingredients are

100% additive-free, whole leaf, premium NATURAL tobacco

Up to 25% more tobacco than other king size cigarettes

if you have a link (that supports your THEORY) please post it

come on.

the tobacco is light colored & very dry now. Back in the 80's tobacco used to be dark, string like, and moist.

and really do you think these giants are HONEST? after all we've seen with GMO foods, you don't believe they would use a GMO tobacco in the cigarettes??

The yellowing is some form of build up, not through just how you hold it. I use to only smoke tobacco when mixed with cannabis and pulled through a bowl(Australiahappydance). excessive usage of this method lead to the yellowing of my fingers that could not be removed.

Straight green had no such effects.

Now that I do smoke a fair amount of cigarettes through work I have noticed that my stained fingers have disappeared since plain packaging and stop burn cigarettes tobacco was introduced down here.

Hell i cant say for sure in regards to other places and other tobaccos...
But the tobacco i smoke has nicotene.

I smoke 'sparrow' pipe tobacco and either roll mine own or smoke a pipe.

And i know pyramids and lucky strikes contain nicotene. But i honestly rarely buy em in a pack.

At least the ones sold here in kentucky do.

If i go 8 hours without smoking and i smoke real fast... I still get an awesoke nicotene buzz...

Would not suprise me though if GMO's have hit other brands and places.

Each pack is labelled for sale in a certain place... They have too cos of the tax code. So while my tobacoo in kentucky is nicotene laced lol

"your" tobacco in nevada (for example, if op lives in nevada its just chance)
May be GMO evil tobacco...

The stupid shit they be doing to our products is ridiculous...

Thanks for the heads up OP... If i travel out of state im making sure i got plenty of smokes!

the stop-burn cigarettes is flame retardant added to the paper in the tubes.

in the 80's, anyone who smoked (filtered or non-filtered) smokes had nasty nicotined stained fingers.

I remember seeing it on my dad, uncles, grandpas fingers all yellow looking. you could spot a smoker in any crowd.

then in the 2000's the tobacco changed.

Re: GMO Tobacco
Truth be told, I just got off of the line with the rep at the company, and he tells me a whole different story. Now maybe circa 2000 and - the tobacco they used was 'GMO' or filled with pesticides. But in reality today (2014) it has changed a lot. Native American Spirit Cigarettes, or Nascigs for short are now produced in two distinct varieties: one being natural and the other being Organic.

For instance, if you take a look at the menthol, look closely at the back. You will notice it says made with Organic Tobacco and Organic Menthol. Now apparently there is a non-organic version as well. But these particular Organic Menthol cigarettes are not specially labeled as such, they just say natural.

As for the tabacco itself, the rep told me NONE of Nasigs use GMO tabacco, and that they test all of their non-organic tabacco for pesticides and chemicals, and if it's not up to bar they won't purchase it or use it.

As for the 8 or 5 labeling, it's BS for cigarettes,(I dunno about food). I checked my Nasicg Menthol Pack with Organic Tobac and Ment and it's a 47995-85505 ( the last part starts with an 8 and ends with a 5, but yet its organic)

Hope this answer some Q's!!!!

(PS i dont work for them, I just smoke 'em, and I really need to quit)
