Bug out for a G1 watch ? When they issue a watch for G4 or greater, then yea, be ready for possible bug out. This, even if direct earth hit, will just make for a beautiful northern lights event- nothing more.

Yup Japan about to shake.

Solar flares normally emanate from sunspots, they are created on the sun's surface when magnetic fields mix together, in essence! CME'S are eruptions caused by magnetic filaments which raise up from the suns surface then collapse back down causing a massive explosion, as in this instance!

SOLAR flares can travel extremely fast and arrive here within hours, cme's are much slower taking several days to reach us!

EITHER, if it's large enough could destroy our civilisation by taking out our electronics and electricity grids!

This would be the KILLSHOT!
