it is big. what impressed me is how it is like nearly the whole circumference of the sun seems to be throwing something off. i saw another of these sunburst's on a stereo the other day, wasn't facing us then tho.

CMEtards scare me because I have no idea what they are talking about. I have a feeling most of them are mental...but some must know what they are talking about. Just wish I could tell who isn't off their rocker.

Its hard to say yet, even for spaceweather. Its a filament CME so its going to have alot of dense plasma involved. Not to worried, just take spaceweather for what it is.

It just sets my teeth on edge when people who have not invested any time on an issue, still feel that they are more qualified to definitively pronounce truth on that issue than someone who's spent a lot of time on it. Reminder, the Carrington Event wasn't from 1 CME but multiple.

The first CME cleared the way and the second one arrived at the same time the 1st one did.

Caused an abnormally long tug on the Earths magnetic field on the dark side. The mag lines reconnect when the stretching is over with and surges current into the upper atmosphere. Which in turn fries the grid.

Point is, even small CME's, when fired off just right, can cause X50 like havoc on the grid.
