According to the Bible god created the stars 6000-8000 years ago
But we know for a fact that even stars are millions of light years away and thus couldn't have been created at that time period.

just as valid as a theory as any. this is one reason why.

The Hebrew writers clearly thought of seven 24 hour days when they they wrote their myth. This can be shown by the use of morning/evening in the account and several other including the celebration of the Sabbath

"Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and so that the slave born in your household and the foreigner living among you may be refreshed.

It never says that. It says the earth was void. An E.L.E must have wiped everything out. This could very well be Earth 5.0 Earth was replenished around that time, perhaps but not created. Use a Greek concordinance when reading the bible. You have to sometimes. There are too many mis-translations.

Re: According to the Bible god created the stars 6000-8000 years ago
The simple fact is that the light we measure the age of stars with, clearly shows us that stars are billions of years old. Which is in direct contradiction to what the bible tells us is the age of the universe and the earth.
You can twist the words to mean something else all you want.
But it is clear that bible says that everything was created around the same time.

There is no other explanation besides that of the bible clearly being wrong in its creation myth. What I find fascinating is that we have other creation myths from all around the world that allow for a universe that is billions of years old. I would be more inclined to take these accounts more seriously since they line up to what we understand to be undeniable fact. Bible believers however can scramble as much as they lime to transform the meaning of their holy book so that it fits a modern understanding of the cosmos, but it will always be a race to keep it relevant.

Those who refuse to believe otherwise always say that science is now catching up to the what the bible stated such a long time ago. Which is a fun way to view it, but ultimately it is wrong.
What is happening is that those who interpret its meaning have to keep going back to modify their statements in order for it to appear as if the bible had it right all along.
Science doesn't have this issue.
We can simply put out a theory, hoping that someone can prove it to be wrong in order to have a better understanding of the truth.
Religion however doesn't need this system, it is all contained in one singular book that will inevitably have to keep transforming into something else in order to remain relevant.

Eventually they'll realise they were wrong. When that will be, is anyone's guess.

Evidence or this is just crackpot conjecture pure and simple.

And you even contradict your own Bible

which says:

And on the fourth day God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

You imply that time as we measure it is a constant. We created our measure of time to correspond to our passage through the universe as we follow and circle a star that lies on the outer leg of a galaxy that itself circles within a cluster and that circling a super cluster. Mankind limits itself to only what it can measure and conceive and that is so limiting and arrogant.

at the same time He could have created the light that was traveling to us from those stars.

He could have also created something that was old. ie.e an oak tree that was instantaneously created as it were 100 years old.

The universe will create everything, including Gods. Gods will be able to modify and habitate planets with whatever life forms they choose, planets just like this one. Gods may be able to manipulate solar systems to develop habitable planets with populations to worship them. Gods will be able to create life itself and life forms of any nature they desire. Meanwhile there will still be natural evolution occurring throughout the eternal, infinite, space/time continuum.
