Re: Scientist confirms extinction event asteroid to hit earth
Something caused a universal time shift on Wednesday 13th March, something very extraordinary that must have a colossal mass to bend time. This could have been a super nova exploding or a black hole imploding, but the real problem is the shock wave that has yet to hit earth. My prediction is the wave will hit Tuesday over North America. Look for senates to be overseas on this day.

In the next ten minutes, the nukes will be detonated on the object, this is our final chance to stop the object.

I will inform all of you what is happening

Here's the follow-up video.

 Quoting: Dr. Astro

WOW!

Would he have given it in that format to throw TPTB off of his posting? i.e. they arent tooking for "TLE's" so he could post it without it being sniffed out?

And was he "showing" one that JUST missed then saying that the next one was a hit?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23559912

No. His second one is even more fucked up than the first, to the point it's not even something you can parse. You people keep missing the point. It's fake, the orbit is ridiculous, there is not a population of near earth asteroids that have aphelion distances between Uranus and Neptune with eccentricities just below 1. He constructed it to hit earth (and got close, but no cigar when taking into account things like relativity and the gravity of the planets) which is why he simplified things by setting inclination to an arbitrary and low value (0.005000 - yeah right .005000 exactly) and the longitude of ascending node to 0 exactly. It was a way of simplifying so all he'd have to worry about was a 2 dimensional situation. A real orbit determination would have some sort of real value there for the LAN, even if inclination were small (and the odds of inclination being that nice round number?). The second set given are even more ridiculous, an epoch of what exactly? It's so screwed up that it looks like it's saying January 1st 2000, in which case the epoch is hell and gone from the supposed impact date. But ok, you want me to run those numbers too with the assumption that I should parse it like it's some super-secret spy code, I'll do it.
 Quoting: Dr. Astro

Just a thought....

What if the epoch was changed to the mar 25 date. Am I sort of understanding this right?

Does that change anything? Is that how it works?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23559912

But that's not what it says, at all. I'm running an integration right now with it set to January 1st 2000, since that's the date it seems to indicate if you take it using the same logic used for the first set presented.

Re: Scientist confirms extinction event asteroid to hit earth
Okay the reason we have waited before making the announcement is because we have at this very moment, a trained team in space ready to try and blow the object up.

We will know in the next hour if they have been succesfful.

If not, an immediate television broadcast will be made
 Quoting: Raymond Brown 10917219

You sir, are pathetic to the point that I actually feel sorry for you.

Astro why feed the troll? Why bother?

It's time for this....pwned!!
 Quoting: ~Andariel~

I'm not even concerned about the OP troll at this point, I just feel kinda bad that somehow I managed to make someone else feel concerned due to my analysis so I'm trying to resolve that and make it right.

Ha. Ha ha. That's funny, actually. Ok, so the second set misses earth by a bigger margin than the first set (no doubt because whoever tried to construct this probably did so without taking into account the gravity of the planets, relativity, etc - they probably thought this was another impactor orbit) BUT the asteroid does cross earth's orbit at midnight on April 1st, 2013. Cute. Whoever did this at least had a sense of humor.

It wasn't gibberish, but it also wasn't a good idea to set the epoch at January 1st when constructing the elements. That meant a larger amount of error in trying to construct a fake impact trajectory - a decade worth of error between the epoch and the would-be impact. It was obviously a joke, I don't know why you're all "hiding" unless you were actually the one who posted the joke and trying to play along. Cute, if so. I lol'ed when I saw the date that it crossed earth's orbit.
