astromut plz tell me that these are the orbital elements.Use your software and tell us.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26766452

LOL! They're orbital elements alright... for an earth orbiting object. It's in two line element format, which is used exclusively for earth orbiting satellites, not asteroids. Only an idiot would try to describe the orbit of an asteroid using that format. He completely fucked it up too. The epoch number he gives in the first line is either nonsensical or simply missing numbers. For instance, the first set he gives does have an epoch set on March 25th IF you assume that the gap in the epoch number is supposed to be a 0. The second set he gives the epoch number is just nonsense. There's no number for the year and the day is 1.49925925, so in other words it's supposed to be halfway through the first day of the year, NOT March 25th as he claimed. He doesn't seem to know what he's doing at all.

For the record, I integrated his first set of orbital elements over the course of a year. It's a highly elliptical orbit (eccentricity 0.9547277) with a large semi-major axis (158332826.847 km) and as such it is unstable and breaks free of earth. It started out orbiting earth but the gravity of the sun and planets dominates its trajectory over earth's gravity. Even after a year from today the object described by that orbit still does not hit us and in fact it's far from earth by that time. Its orbit has a MOID in excess of 7 LD a year from today. I'll do a video about it later.
 Quoting: Dr. Astro

So here's the video, these orbital elements indicate the object is no threat to earth lol:

 Quoting: Dr. Astro

Can those be re-ran (so to speak) with an assumption that the orbital elements are using the sun as the center / reference point instead of the earth? Does that change anything. I.e. make it helio centric (is that the right term!) instead of earth centric?

TLE's are always in reference to earth. I could manually convert to standard keplerian elements and load them in as that if you like.

His calculations are very wrong, and they are based on INCORECT DATA

NOBODY in the world was tracking this object until less than 2 weeks ago....
he gets his data from other sources ie internet forums or nasa websites which update every month.

We will be providing the full data to the world on our live broadcast

I just want to know, what cockamamie method did you use to create that TLE? Clearly the work of a moran, but I'd like to know what you did to so badly mutilate the formatting to the point that the second set of TLE's wasn't even parse-able.

Aha, that is definitely what was apparently meant by those screwed up TLE's. That does produce an "asteroid" that gets close to earth. At its closest, 15,000 km from earth's center, or a little less than 9000 km from the surface. Still a miss and a fail, but a much closer miss. The date and time of the miss would be 9.755 days prior to the epoch of the elements, in other words, it would have already hit us yesterday if it were going to hit lol.

You're on the wrong site, mush. Last time I mentioned it, I got a warning in RED. The pixels have been removed, but the Italian image shows the asteroids as asteroids confirmed by REAL astronomers. Go and see for yourself. You know where to go.
