I just read the beginning and end of this thread tonight and can't believe the number of posts. It didn't have me going for long at all, that's why I posted what I did. But there's still people out there worried about the March 25 one to hit in the Atlantic.... And when that one doesn't come true, we'll just start worrying about hte next. Not going to claim the OP is telling the truth or not, as i do not know, however one that size will not make mankind go extinct (mankind has survived worse), heck one of that size probably wouldn't destroy civilization even, but it would definitely kill a great deal of the earth's population.

Honestly, even a jurassic era asteroid wouldn't wipe out humanity more than likely, though one like that probably would end civilization again.
