Do you suppose a prop driven drone could be taken out by a rod and reel? A nice cast with a couple of treble hooks and let the line run. The props will wrap it up, then set the line and you got a drone!

Soon they'll probably be banned as they're gaining popularity. The real drones that you tards are worried about will be much more advanced and hover at much higher altitudes that you won't even notice them.

Ain't shit you can do about those either.

Agreed -

The smaller/ lower altitude drones will be troublesome enough to deal with.

With the larger UAVs possessing an extended loiter time and hanging out around 30,000 feet in elevation, they don't even need to be right over your city/ town, much less right overhead of a particular spot they are tasked to surveil or even strike.

There are huge differences in loiter time, capabilities, and payload between the hobbyist aircraft hovering between fifty and a couple hundred feet in the air.

All of that being said; the recent increase in use of the smaller crafts by various municipalities and even "news" organizations is nothing short of conditioning and acclimating the people to accept their constant and persistent presence.

Just as "traffic cams" were to be used only for monitoring congestion and/ or accidents on the roadways but have become tools of enforcement (red-light cams/ speeding violations), these, too will quickly migrate to and be utilized as tools of enforcement; as has been the initial plan all along.

If all of this gives one cause to pause in serious consideration - and it should - just wait until the technology that we haven't even seen and is being kept under wraps until the situation exists to warrant it's use is unveiled.

Robocop meets Terminator meets Hunger games. This is no longer science fiction - this is a glimpse at our future.

8) Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

Must be controlled by local police the gov has way more advanced ones then that
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17854248

It is definitely a local police toy...but conditioning people to the concept of constant surveillance is the overreaching objective of this type.

A "Drone"...LOL.

I have one of those (as displayed in the video). I don't use it to Spy on people or crowds...I use it for Aerial Video & Photography for Real Estate, Construction sites, Land Surveys, Weddings, and more.

Yes, it can fly at a long range (2.5-3Km), heights to higher than the eye can see, travel at 60km/h and carry up to 15lbs (7kg) including its' own weight. I also have a "Fat Shark" wireless video display when flying with a camera...feels like your are in the Pilot Seat of the craft.

Don't look at these devices as "Evil"...but look to the operator in his/her actions regarding the device.

"One of the coolest filmmaking toys has got to be RC helicopters. We had the opportunity to work with one last March in Alaska filming the iditarod. We had a blast with the chopper and got shots that we never could have got anywhese else or with anything else. I would highly reccommend checking out RC helicopters -- they are unique in the fact that they get shots that a normal full size helicopter can't. When people as me to compare the shot you get some an RC vs a full size helicopter I like to think of the RC as like a giant Steadicam :) "

Yes Real Estate.

Every Real Estate Agent will provide you with inside/outside pics of a property...and if they are "hip"...maybe even a "Virtual Tour".

But VERY few offer the ability for the potential customer to view the property from a "Birds Eye View" in Pictorial or Video aspect. Not just the immediate property but the also the local area/community.

For example...one of my Real Estate clients had a listing on MLS for 11 months with few inquiries and fewer views. After I did a 3 min presentation with pictures/video of the propterty...the agent sold the house in 2 weeks...$4.5M

I rec'd $1500 for a 4 hour project...not bad.

So I have a whatever to your whatever
