Drone Caught On Tape Over Austin | |

Quoting: Saddletramp No one has to know you shot it. :) Well when the last thing they see on the camera is you pointing a 12ga at their drone, then static...I think they are probably going to come to your house looking for their drone... Just a guess... A news DRONE!!!!!!!! I didn't see a News Logo... That looked like a black police drone to me... Quoting: Saddletramp You actually own a lot more than that.. You own your lot of land, all the way up to the stratosphere. But the FAA owns permit to fly through anyone's airspace. Just like if you own water front property.. the beach is yours but anyone can walk on it.. So basically they could fly this right into your backyard legally. Scary shit! thanks for reply No prob. I know all this from getting my realtors license. It will be an interesting legal test the first time someone shoots one of these un-manned surveillance drones down, because my understanding of the legality of people flying over your property is that they are protected because they are in transit on approved flight paths and it is their duty to avoid any structures you have built, since these things are just there to spy on you and they don't have a person actually in the vehicle... You can bet it's only a matter of time before someone shoots one down, I guess we'll find out then... ClydeX User ID: 11310285 United States 03/16/2013 07:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Remember the thread posted yesterday about DARPA's new autonomous robot? This is 20 year old tech that is released for public consumption, which translates as "public conditioning". Thread: New Robot Troops. The Terminator is REAL. He is BACK Do they have their purpose and potential? Absolutely - but within certain clearly defined parameters. The most concerning part is (from the thread): "The platform allows robots connected to the Internet to directly access the powerful computational, storage, and communications infrastructure of modern data centers — the giant server farms behind the likes of Google, Facebook, and Amazon — for robotics tasks and robot learning." Again, this is information that is openly released for public consumption (conditioning), and is not even close to the current technology that is working and deployable. This means autonomous, learning, drones with the capability to identify/ recognize/ track targets based upon a given set of specific parameters; be they weapons recognition, facial recognition (DARPA/ NSA says to keep posting to facebook), or by tapping into municipal traffic cams, can use these for locating/ tracking, then deploying to that particular area in which a target has been identified. While the technology and the drones/ robots associated with such definitely have useful application, particularly in Search and Rescue operations for both civilian and military uses, it is the mission migration of turning these devices into tools of monitoring, tracking, and even killing of people - specifically American citizens - that has become the most concerning situation. These WILL become a greater problem that we have to deal with - you can mark my words on that. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31787811 What would a laser pen do to a drone?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I would have to think that would be greatly dependent upon the hardware on board, as well as the operational parameters of the software. It would likely make you a "hot" target. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3937774 A directed electro-magnetic signal will make that thing fall out of the sky and render it inoperable. That or a pellet gun. LOL Do you have a circuit diagram for that? Will such a gadget be portable? No. Its just common sense, EMP's fry electronics, so it would be simple to knock those little toys out with one. Yeah, because everyone has an EMP gun handy. They're available at Walmart. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 14543112 United States 03/16/2013 09:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wonder who that drone belonged to. Everyone is assuming it's a government drone but it could have been some electrical engineering students' PHD project or a hobbyist's toy or whatever, some private owner and they were screwing around with it. I've never seen one of them hovery urban drones before but it doesn't look like what I would imagine the government has. Looked like it had rubber bands on it or something. Quoting: KonspiracyKitty Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself that we haven't gotten to the point where we have government surveillance drones hovering twenty feet above the sidewalks snapping photos, recording video of people and recording audio of their conversations. I realize they probably do all these things sometimes, but if it's gotten to the point where they're that in-your-face about it, it really shows how arrogant they've become and how secure they are in their power. But yeah, if more of those show up, no matter who they belong to, it's only a matter of time before someone shoots one down. Maybe not in Austin as the populace would be euphoric at the sight of one of their savior's drones, but elsewhere in United States, people will react differently. this is possible and i have thought this too before posting it, its just how recently they have been talking about drones over us and being more bold.. then i found this.. Who knows really :P .. You decide what it is Drones are available to the general public: [link to www.khou.com] betterb uyem fast spect very soon they will be like assault rifles. |

ClydeX User ID: 11310285 United States 03/16/2013 12:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Soon they'll probably be banned as they're gaining popularity. The real drones that you tards are worried about will be much more advanced and hover at much higher altitudes that you won't even notice them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11421136 Ain't shit you can do about those either. Agreed - The smaller/ lower altitude drones will be troublesome enough to deal with. With the larger UAVs possessing an extended loiter time and hanging out around 30,000 feet in elevation, they don't even need to be right over your city/ town, much less right overhead of a particular spot they are tasked to surveil or even strike. There are huge differences in loiter time, capabilities, and payload between the hobbyist aircraft hovering between fifty and a couple hundred feet in the air. All of that being said; the recent increase in use of the smaller crafts by various municipalities and even "news" organizations is nothing short of conditioning and acclimating the people to accept their constant and persistent presence. Just as "traffic cams" were to be used only for monitoring congestion and/ or accidents on the roadways but have become tools of enforcement (red-light cams/ speeding violations), these, too will quickly migrate to and be utilized as tools of enforcement; as has been the initial plan all along. If all of this gives one cause to pause in serious consideration - and it should - just wait until the technology that we haven't even seen and is being kept under wraps until the situation exists to warrant it's use is unveiled. Robocop meets Terminator meets Hunger games. This is no longer science fiction - this is a glimpse at our future.
