Re: Comet Pan-STARRS Timelapse
Another dud comet. I looked for it. Barely and I mean barely made it out. Saw no tail, just a tiny dot on the extreme limits of my ability to see.

Just like Hale-Bopp and Haley's. They both sucked. Hayketakye (sp?) rocked. It was beautiful. I will always remember the beauty of it.

But Pannstarrs sucks ass. Nice if you are rich and can afford a telescope or binoculars, but for us normal folks without those fancy gadgets it sucked.

Where were you watching Hale-Bopp from? I was in the Chicago area and saw it large & clear every morning for a couple of months.

It was awesome.

Yes, Hale-Bopp was awesome here in New York. Haley's was a bust, constant clouds.

Charlotte NC. It was nothing but a fuzzy dot. No tail, no nothing. It sucked.

I don't know if "dud" is entirely fair. I don't think PanSTARRS was supposed to be terribly amazing. It's not too bad if you've got a little bit of zoom available.

Here are a few shots I took of it:

Re: Comet Pan-STARRS Timelapse

The buildings you see at the end of the video were on a barrier island about 3-4 miles away. I'm currently trying to identify the satellite which appears to streak right through the comet. I thought I knew what it was (a Delta rocket booster) but upon reviewing the total footage the timing was wrong for it to have been what I thought.

Hi Astro, did you see this on Pan-Starrs? May be breaking up? Also a plane flew through the guys field of view. Did you figure out what flew through your field of view yet?
