I'm not sure about Catholic Charities but just call around to local churches and ask about food handouts. It's really simple and there are many churches just about anywhere. Unfortunately, the food given out is typically not the healthiest but when you really need to survive it's a blessing.

your INCOMPASSION is stunning. We are living in the greatest depression since 1939, but it is true, "charity" has grown cold. My husband and I were small millionaires and lost everything 3 years ago. We were selling copper out of our garage for food and utilities. We were were destroyed over night. We worked very hard and employed 50 people. We paid 50k in taxes a year. Today, we can't get food stamps, Medicaid, unemployment because we are 'business" owners. We are hardly that really.

Why not barter some of those eggs to someone else who is at the hotel, that may have some other things to eat? That way you stretch out your food and have a bit more variety for four days.

Catholic Charities blacklisted me simply cause I'm an Atheist, I am blacklisted from all other religious based organizations for humanitarian aid.

I make no more than $12,000 a year and I am disabled (not a vet), by law I can't work nor would I since my disabilities, and yea. Do I need handouts, not really cause I have friends/family who aid me and nor do I need symphony from anyone.

I am not permitted to stay in Salvation Army homeless shelters yet they allow criminals of all traits to stay there but this Atheist may not. I am not homeless at the moment but I have been chronically homeless for sometime, on my own will or by force.

I use to go an entire week without food and water, that was every other week for sometime, and I never panhandled. I live with intense pain daily but if I didn't, I don't know if I would comprehend the notion of reality.

I don't have many friends simply cause I either choose to or the friends I thought were, ended up using me for my vulnerabilities and those people now have no existence in my life.

It's rather interesting when you have money, how many old friends come out the wood work and attempt to befriend you once more but when you don't have money, those friends treat you like garbage.

Is this a sad story, I'll leave that up to your perception on my little novel, and remember your perception on reality will differ from others.

Third day without food. Trying to clean the dog pee off the carpet. Just too busy to eat. Don't miss the food but, real disappointed in the carpet. Don't really ever think about food.

Check craigslist in your area for help with cash. U can get many odd jobs in return for work. You can also find places to stay. Use your internet and read and post.

Oh boo hoo cry me a fucking river OP, I once ate nothing but stale bread and canned cheese dip for a week straight. But here's the kicker this happened to me when I was a kid, and when I say kid I mean child not a teen who could have easily gone out and try to find a part time job. So needless to say I had no choice in the matter. As adults we have the responsibility of providing for ourselves, so by finding yourself in this situation you have no one but yourself to blame.

If you soak the beans over night before cooking them they will be better digested. I cook my beans with pork neck bones. It gives them a great favor. I pray that your situation will improve soon. Best of luck to you.

Thank you :) Salt water may be good but I've already made the CS and put it in his eyes. he's not opening them very far now, just squinty but they seem to be drier. I think he lived too long on his own and his immune system is wrecked. I will keep at it and I do have a job so I'm not without means, I will just have to use a credit card dangit. If this doesn't work that is. Thanks y'all, it seems the CS is the po folks drug of choice. :)
