Sex with anyone but your married spouse is (according to them) adultery. Gay sex is an "abomination" before GOD! And gays should be killed. But old men who have sex with little boys and girls who haven't even reached puberty yet - that okay because it's an "illness". Like a head cold?? Quoting: MarkinAZ Funny how the standards are so impossibly high for everyone else, and when it comes to a disease that affects millions upon millions of Catholic Priests throughout their lives - then it suddenly becomes an "illness" The stomach-turning hypocrisy and utter self-serving bullshit of that statement is beyond belief. WHAT THE HELL is wrong with this man? Is this just the generations of ingrained covering up for pedophile priests to the point where this Cardinal actually believes what he's saying? Oh I hope not. You can reason with a liar and convince a hypocrite. But you cannot reason or change the mind of a delusional personn. Not ever! It's because so many powerful people are involved and not just the priest. I can only find comfort knowing God has a special place for people like this. I also believe if you do not stand against it you are just as guilty. |

Excerpt: The three companies that insure the majority of Protestant churches in America say they typically receive upward of 260 reports each year of young people under 18 being sexually abused by clergy, church staff, volunteers or congregation members. The figures offer a glimpse into what has long been an extremely difficult phenomenon to pin down -- the frequency of sex abuse in Protestant congregations. Religious groups and victims' supporters have been interested in the figure ever since the Roman Catholic sex abuse crisis hit five years ago. The church has revealed that there have been 13,000 credible accusations against Catholic clerics since 1950 -- 228 a year. 228 for the US church or for the whole world? |

If they have been convicted of a crime, they would be in prison, or placed however the authorities dictated. The church complies with civil law. If they have been released, they would need to be treated humanely. Last Edited by #KK# on 03/16/2013 05:36 AM |

Actions are choices. Quoting: Shoot straight Johnny The people who are unable to control themselves should be removed from society. If its not a criminal condition then it is a disease which requires isolation. This guy: [link to www.kgw.com] The state sex offender registry lists Brown as a predatory sex offender known to target children ages 2 to 8. He was on parole for abusing children when the attack in Wendy's occurred. Court records showed in the early 1990s, Brown was charged with 43 counts, including attempted murder and rape, in connection with a series of sexual assaults against children in Douglas County. Prosecutors said he exposed several children to HIV through sexual contact but those charges were dropped in the plea deal. Do agree whether its a condition or choice that people like that should still be removed from society though. |

Those figures are for churches insured in the U.S. but obviously you are missing the point. The instances of pedophilia are no greater in the RCC than other denominations or the population at large. It just isn't something peculiar to or more prevalent in the Catholic Church. And I have always just had to wonder at people who report a crime to the person's employer instead of the police in the first place. Seems they are more about money than justice. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Thus this lawsuit: The pope never disclosed what the influential priest had done wrong. Only later was it confirmed that Maciel had molested seminarians and fathered at least three children. In Ireland, where church leaders had shielded guilty clerics from prosecution for decades, the Vatican during Benedict’s pontificate refused or ignored repeated requests from state investigators for access to its case files. Some people learn to be gay by practice, such as being in prison, or heavily into dark occult practices, or because they were molested themselves as children, or a host of other things or circumstances. Still, my point is that actions are always a result of choice, whether gay, hetero or whatever (except in very rare cases of medical abnormality, such as one previous poster gave a couple of examples of. All sexual activity is performed by choice (excepting rape, of course). The chariots of God are tens of thousands, and thousands of thousands. |

Start one small incision on the forehead with a chain saw... Insert a crowbar... Crack open the cranium and yank their brain out and clean it with acid... Stuff it back... Make sure it goes back in just right... Use a sledge hammer... As a tamper... Medical problem solved using a medical procedure... -Dr. Acula _______________________ |
