Re: The bible is full of shit! (New Testament Contradiction Edition)
The question is why are there 41 contradictions in the New Testament?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33398445

1. You haven't read the Bible with enough comprehension to put some of them into their proper context. Some truth is subjective to a place time and scenario and that truth is mutable to another place, time scenario.

I can go off on a tangent about Satan being in control of this world, and that "truth" is not available, only scraps, but that is another story.

2. Some/Most of your list is Astrological Codex, a code for the initiated. I'm sorry you don't like it, but the door is closed for you at this time. The fact that I've told you what it is, more than I should've done and enough to put you on the path to further discovery if you wish to persue it.

3. Some of your contradictions aren't contradictions at all, they are simply due to books that do not exist anymore or were regarded as Apocryphal by the hands of man. That doesn't make anything a fraud or "full of shit" as you so intellectually described it, in accordance to your ability to be intellectual.

If there are any contradictions that don't fall into one of those three categories, like I said, pick one.
You just keep repeating that it is 'For the Wise only' to understand the astrological implications of it or some nonsense.
 Quoting: whomever

Well, you don't, do you? Here is what you just said: "I am not wise or initiated, therefore I don't "get" something that requires wisdom and initiation."

Do you realize how silly that is? Do you expect me to grant you wisdom and initiation on an internet forum?

Again, this is a non-answer. Try again.
 Quoting: whomever

Your qualifications for what is or isnt an answer cannot be dictated by the terms of your own intellect or ego, since they are demonstratibly unqualified to dictate anything of the sort.

You are like Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel demanding a treatise on the potential complications of neurosurgery from a Neurosurgeon.

You are like an ape throwing rocks at the moon because it scares you.

Anyone can see this by your words.

Re: The bible is full of shit! (New Testament Contradiction Edition)
The first is an example of an invented error using tricks of words:

1) How many generations were there between Abraham to David?
Matthew 1:17 lists fourteen generations. Matthew 1:2 lists thirteen generations.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33398445

Matthew 1:17 doesn't say between Abraham to David. Says "From Abraham to David", that is: explicitly states that it is counting both begining and ending generations.

And the generations listed in Matthew 1:17 are:

1 - Abraham
2 - Isaac
3 - Jacob
4 - Judas
5 - Phares
6 - Esrom
7 - Aram
8 - Aminadab
9 - Naasson
10 - Salmon
11 - Booz
12 - Obed
13 - Jesse
14 - Davi

the thext of Matthew 1:17:

So all the generations from Abraham to David {are} fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon {are} fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ {are} fourteen generations.
Matthew 1:17
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36260314

As another example, if we were to count then the generations from Abraham to Christ it would be 14+13+13 = 40 generations, if not, if we counted 14+14+14=42 we would be counting twice the generation of David and the generation that went into Babylon.

Perhaps, I may concede that as a reasonable translation.

40 to go.

Holy Diver is clearly a severely disturbed individual, it's probably best to just ignore him. I understand it is annoying when a vile troll keeps announcing he is winning the discussion, but no-one with a functioning brain is fooled, so it doesn't really matter.

You could also try registering here, I believe you can ban nasties who try to derail your threads from posting in them as a registered user.

Most trolls are harmless, but there are a few aggressive and really dedicated ones like Holy Diver, and when one of them target you, it can make any intelligent discussion impossible.

I know AstroTheology pretty well...

(OP seem to need this link so he can enlighten himself [link to universaltruthschool.com] )

But actually Holy Diver is the one that look stupid in this thread...

He just keep nagging "your to stupid to understand" over and over without giving any answers...

I dont think he has any!

You win OP!

I am interested in Astro Theology. I will check out that website, thank you.

I find the AstroTheology reasoning to be more sound than sole reliance on a book that is severely flawed.

This from someone who can't defend or prove his own beliefs, and bases his accusations, on other peoples opinions.

I am not proclaiming any beliefs to defend. This statement is illogical. Christians proclaim their New Testament is the infallible word of God, I just proved it is fallible, I'm waiting on the logical explanation.

Because you can't. FAIL!!!! Prove your own beliefs are true, before claiming to know others aren't.

Again, you just say I don't understand, but I understand enough to be able to be able to point the contradictions out.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33398445

Define Christian
Define Proclaim
Define infallible
Define Word of God.

Then you say you have "Just Proved" it is fallible.

YOu haven't proved anything at all, let alone the vague, ill-defined terms you used to arrive at this absurd proclaimation.

There are plenty of christians, for example, that do not believe the Bible is infallible.

There are those who are unsure, and don't "Proclaim" anything of the sort.

What does infallible even mean? That there can be no typos or mistranslations? Son, you can't even transliterate the orignal Hebrew of the Torah into English without losing 50% or more of the content.

What is the Word of God? Does the Real God speak in words? Are words effective and if not, would God use something ineffective?

Re: The bible is full of shit! (New Testament Contradiction Edition)
If the bible is the infallible word of 'God' & God is perfect, then why are there so many mistakes in it? Is this an admission that God is not perfect?

Here's a compilation of New Testament contradictions:

Gospel Contradictions:

1) How many generations were there between Abraham to David?
Matthew 1:17 lists fourteen generations. Matthew 1:2 lists thirteen generations.

2) Is Paul lying? In Acts 20:35 Paul told people "to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Since Jesus never made such a biblical statement, isn’t Paul guilty of deception?

3) When did the leper become not a leper? (Matthew 8:13 & 8:14) Jesus healed the leper before visiting the house. (Mark 1:29-30 & 1:40-42) Jesus healed the leper after visiting Simon Peter’s house.

4) Who approached Jesus? (Matthew 8:5-7) The Centurion approached Jesus, beseeching help for a sick servant. (Luke 7:3 & 7:6-7) The Centurion did not approach Jesus. He sent friends and elders of the Jews.

5) Was she dead or just dying? (Matthew 9:18) He asked for help, saying his daughter was already dead. (Luke 8:41-42) Jairus approached Jesus for help, because his daughter was dying.

6) Just what did Jesus instruct them to take? (Matthew 10:10) Jesus instructed them not to take a staff, not to wear sandals. (Mark 6:8-9) Jesus instructed his disciples to wear sandals and take a staff on their journey.

7) When did John find out Jesus was the Messiah? (Matthew 11:2-3) While imprisoned. John the Baptist sent followers to Jesus to inquire if Jesus was the messiah. (Luke 7:18-22) While imprisoned. John the Baptist sent followers to Jesus to inquire if Jesus was the Messiah. (John 1 :29-34,36) John already knew Jesus was the Messiah.

8) Who made the request? (Matthew 20:20-21) Their mother requested that James and John, Zebedee’s children, should sit beside Jesus in his Kingdom. (Mark 10:35-37) James and John, Zebedee’s children, requested that they should sit beside Jesus in his Kingdom.

9) What animals were brought to Jesus? (Matthew 21:2-7) two of the disciples brought Jesus an ass and a colt from the village of Bethphage. (Mark 11:2-7) They brought him only a colt.

10) When did the fig tree hear of its doom? (Matthew 21:17-19) Jesus cursed the fig tree after purging the temple. (Mark 11:14-15 & 20) He cursed it before the purging.

11) When did the fig tree keel? (Matthew 21:9) The fig tree withered immediately. and the disciples registered surprise then and there. (Mark 11:12-14 & 20) The morning after Jesus cursed the fig tree, the disciples noticed it had withered and expressed astonishment.

12) Was John the Baptist Elias? "This is Elias which was to come." Matthew 11:14 "And they asked him, what then? Art thou Elias? And he said I am not." John l:21

13) Who was the father of Joseph? Matthew 1:16 The father of Joseph was Jacob. Luke 3 :23 The father of Joseph was Heli. Christians shall try to LIE and tell you that one is the heritage of Mary and the other Joseph. This is utter bullshit, the Hebrew and Greek cultures NEVER regarded the bloodline of the mother. They were patriarchal societies which only concerned themselves with paternal lineage.

14) How many generations were there from the Babylon captivity to Christ? Matthew 1:17 Fourteen generations, Matthew 1:12-16 Thirteen generations.

15) Egypt? Matthew 2:15, 19 & 21-23 The infant Christ was taken into Egypt. Luke 2:22 & 39 The infant Christ was NOT taken to Egypt.

16) Where did Christ preach his first sermon? Matthew 5:1-2 Christ preached his first sermon on the mount. Luke 6:17 & 20 Christ preached his first sermon in the plain.

17) Was John in Prison? John was in prison when Jesus went into Galilee. Mark 1:14 John was not in prison when Jesus went into Galilee. John 1:43 & 3:22-24

18) What was the nationality of the woman who besought Jesus? Matthew 15:22 "And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, Have mercy on me, 0 Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil." Mark 7:26 "The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation, and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter."

19) How many blind men besought Jesus? Matthew 20:30 Two blind men. Luke 18:35-38 Only one blind man.

20) Where did the devil take Jesus first? (Matthew 4:5-8) The Devil took Jesus first to the parapet of the temple, then to a high place to view all the Kingdoms of the world. (Luke 4:5-9) The Devil took Jesus first to a high place to view the kingdoms, then to the parapet of the temple.

21) Can one pray in public? (Matthew 6:5-6) Jesus condemned public prayer. (1 Timothy 2:8) Paul encouraged public prayer.

22) If we decide to do good works, should those works be seen? Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works." 1 Peter 2:12 "Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that ... they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation." This contradicts: Matthew 6:1-4 "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them…that thine alms may be in secret." Matthew 23:3-5 "Do not ye after their [Pharisees'] works ... all their works they do for to be seen of men."

23) Who did Jesus tell the Lord’s Prayer to? (Matthew 5:1, 6:9-13 & 7:28) Jesus delivered the Lord’s Prayer during the Sermon on the Mount before the multitudes. (Luke 11:1-4) He delivered it before the disciples alone, and not as part of the Sermon on the Mount.

24) When was Christ crucified? Mark 15:25 "And it was the third hour and they crucified him." John 19:14-15 "And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour; and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your king…Shall I crucify your king?" John 19:14-15.

25) The two thieves reviled Christ. (Matthew 27:44 & Mark 15:32) Only one of the thieves reviled Christ. Luke 23:39-40.

26) Baptism? In 1 Corinthians 1:17 ("For Christ sent me [Paul] not to baptize but to preach the gospel") Paul said Jesus was wrong when he said in Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them…" Clearly one of these people is wrong, either way, it’s a contradiction.

27) When did Satan enter Judas? Satan entered into Judas while at the supper. John 13:27 Satan entered Judas before the supper. Luke 23:3-4 & 7

28) How many women came to the sepulcher? John 20:1 Only one woman went, Mary Magdalene. Matthew 28:1 Mary Magdalene and the "other Mary" (Jesus’ mother) went.

29) When & who went to the sepulcher? Mark 16:2 It was sunrise when the two women went to the sepulcher. John 20:1 It was still dark (before sunrise) when Mary Magdalene went alone to the sepulcher.

30) How many angels were there? There were two angels seen by the women at the sepulcher and they were standing up. Luke 24:4 There was only one angel seen and he was sitting down. Mark 28:2-5

31) How many angels were within the sepulcher? John 20:11-12 two, Mark 16:5 one.

32) Holy Ghost timing? The Holy Ghost bestowed at Pentecost. Acts 1:5-8 & 2:1-4 The holy Ghost bestowed before Pentecost. John 20:22

33) Where did Jesus first appear to the eleven disciples? In a room in Jerusalem. Luke 24:32-37 On a mountain in Galilee. Matthew 28:15-17

34) Where did Christ ascend from? From Mount Olivet. Acts 1:9-12 From Bethany. Luke 24:50-51

35) Can all sins be forgiven? (Acts 13:39) All sins can be forgiven. Great, I’m happy to know God is so merciful, but wait (Mark 3:29) Cursing or blaspheming the Holy Spirit is unforgivable.

36) The Elijah mystery: (Malachi 4:5) Elijah must return before the final days of the world. (Matthew 11:12-14) Jesus said that John the Baptist was Elijah. (Matthew 17:12- 13) Jesus insists that Elijah has already come, and everyone understood him to mean John the Baptist. (Mark 9:13) Jesus insists that Elijah has already come. (John 1:21) John the Baptist maintained that he was not Elijah.

37) Who purchased the potter’s field? Acts 1:18 The field was purchased by Judas. John 20:1 The potter’s field was purchased by the chief priests.

38) Did Paul's attendants hear anything? Paul’s attendants heard the miraculous voice and stood speechless. Acts 9:7 Paul’s attendants did not hear the voice and were prostrate. Acts 22:9 & 26:14

39) Who bought the Sepulcher? Jacob, Josh 24:32 Abraham, Acts 7:16

40) Was it lawful for the Jews to put Christ to death? "The Jews answered him, we have a law, and by our law he ought to die." John 19:7 "The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death." John 18:31

41) Has anyone ascended up to heaven? Elijah went up to heaven: "And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven." 2 Kings 2:11 "No man hath ascended up to heaven but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man." John 3:13

If the Gospels are the infallible word of God, why are they so poorly written? Is God bad with details?

#2 Jesus did teach this. Paul wasn't making a direct quote, he was referrencing general teachings.

Matthew 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 ‘for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 ‘I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 ‘When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 ‘Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (NKJV)

Still, concerning the words “it is more blessed to give than to receive” – consider even Matthew 25:41-46, regarding those who do not aid the needy. There the wording is “depart from me, you cursed”, verse 41, in contrast to “come, you blessed of my father” in verse 34.

Nothing to say about the blatant bible errors?

You offer nothing substantial to this discussion other than a blind adherence to an illogical dogma. Figures.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33398445

Well, I for one found nothing but "blind adherence to an illogical dogma" in your original post. A little historical research goes a long way, and you've got a long way to go.
 Quoting: Life and Love

You make absolutely no sense child. You offer no defense of the 'Infallible' word of God when I point out the blatant fallibility.

What historical research do you suggest I do to understand why the bible (Which is supposed to be written under direct guidance from God) is full of errors?

Please enlighten me..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33398445

The bible is not perfect, because it was written by humans who are not perfect. This does not disprove the existence and divinity of Jesus Christ, nor does it disallow or negate the superior intellect and wisdom contained in His teachings. You clearly have an agenda, in that you read the bible with the INTENT to find errors in it, not to gain spiritual enlightenment or divine inspiration from God.

The real question to ask yourself is why are you so determined to tear down, mock, or humiliate Christianity? Your thread says more about your personal ax to grind than it says about the bible. The many good things that Christianity has and continues to produce (missions, donations, orphanages, community soup kitchens, etc.) are proof enough of the beautiful message that was given by Jesus Christ, one that is embodied by those who give of themselves to help their fellow human beings. Perhaps it would benefit you to take your cue from them, rather than attempt to discredit what they believe in.
"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10

Truth needs no validation because it is self-evident and undeniable. Therefore, anything that requires validation to be realized or justified as truth must contain at least some degree of falsehood.

 Quoting: Morganite

Quasi Reasonable. However Paul does proclaim that he is speaking the words of Christ.

I could 'possibly' chalk this up to a poor translation.

35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

Paul proclaims Jesus did say this.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33398445

This idea pervades all of Jesus teaching, Read what Jesus taught in Matthew 25 above there's no contradiction. 2 Cor. 9:7 says that God loves a cheerful giver. - Same idea.

Re: The bible is full of shit! (New Testament Contradiction Edition)
I know I shouldn't do this ...

40) Was it lawful for the Jews to put Christ to death? "The Jews answered him, we have a law, and by our law he ought to die." John 19:7 "The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death." John 18:31
 Quoting: OP

John 19:7 The Jewish law spoken of here called for capital punishment for anyone blaspheming God, which is what Jesus was accused of by the Jewish PTB.

John 18:31 Roman law, not Jewish law, forbid occupied people (the Jews in this case) from executing anyone. Only the Romans could do that... and in this case they did.

 Quoting: Rising Son

First logical statement of the discussion. The rest is an attack & proclaiming the fruits of your religion, that is nice but it does not contribute to the reasoning behind the errors.

So you admit it is not perfect? Why does it claim infallibility then?

The Authority of Scripture

The Bible proclaims its own authority
Scripture is inspired by God
(II Timothy 3:14-17)
Belief in Scripture is necessary and commanded
(I Corinthians 14:36-38, John 5:46-47, I John 4:1-6)
God has promised to preserve His word for His people in all generations
(Matthew 5:17-18, John 10:35, Isaiah 59:21)
The New Testament writers all referred to the Old Testament as authoritative
The New Testament claims the same authority for itself as the Old Testament
(2 Peter 3:14-16)

This makes the word of God flawed. You admit this? How do you know for certain there are not other errors then?
