Because everything on the internet is true. This is a typical case of guilt by association. Some jackass takes an existing concept, warps it to his own agenda, and presents its as his own. Another little brain comes along, does a skim study of both and declares they are one and the same. Sorry, just because LaVey decided to piggy back on atheism, doesn't mean atheists worship Satan, lack empathy, love, morality or are part of his church. I know how hard it is for you to stretch your mind around what I just said. Oh no I agree not all atheists are Satanists, but all true Satanists (Members of the Church of Satan) are atheists.
