My dog I have today - his name is Tashi - and well there is just something about him. Best dog in the world!!!

He's really calm, like a Zen kind of dog, which is good for me.

But the few times someone threatening has been around, he becomes super fierce.

It's amazing.

My best "dog" WAS a wolf. Well, a wolf-dog cross. Her name was Shiloh. And we loved her a lot. She howled (almost on command!), and was very loving and sweet. Had a kind of "smile" on her face (I think mixed with Samoyed, as that was the kind of "face" she had!

She's been gone 12 years, and we still miss her everyday. Thinking of her makes me want to cry, even all these years later. We bred her for 8 years, but never had a "clone" of her. We would have continued her line forever if we could have bred another like her. Some looked "kinda" like her, most had her sweet personality, but none was a clone.

I have owned and loved 5 dogs in my life. Taffy is my current dog--yellow lab/beagle/terrier mix rescue dog.

Maggie Mouse, my little Chihuahua, who passed away at just 2 1/2 yrs old.
But now I have my Lil' Rat, another chihuahua, who is in love with his momma. lol!

My favorite's name was Obama.

I named her way before the black president appeared out of no where.

She was a mutt....part beagle and ostrich, I think.

She was very undisciplined and she would pee on the bed but I loved her even so.

Patches, pitbull boxer mix miss her everyday

Pepper - he was an austrailian shepherd/blue heeler cross

Over the years I have had very obvious pet names with, sparky, ginger, brownie and buddy.

Freckles - Australian Shepherd / Blue Healer Mix. A very smart sweet dog. Taught my kids to not be afraid of dogs and how to love. She is an awesome 3rd parent.

Had a little taco (Chihuahua) named 'Cigar' (ciggy for short)

Had a German Shepherd named 'Tigher'

Loved em both dearly

I had two favorites, a chow mix named Tramp and a Lab/Newfoundland mix named Beauregard.

Tramp was a one person dog that would defend me with her life. I rescued her from a family that left her to die in their backyard when they moved.

Beau would defend me as well, but was much better around other people, at 165 pounds he commanded a certain amount of respect.

I miss them both.

I've had many dogs over the years and I love them all. There were 2 that were extra special to me. Buffy was a poodle/fox terrier mix. Got her when I was 6 and she passed away when I was 22. She got me through a rough childhood. I saved her life twice.

Romeo was a cockapoo. He passed away nearly 4 years ago. He was very intelligent. We're pretty sure he thought he was human. He couldn't stand to be away from me. I spent the night with my mother when her husband passed away. My husband said he laid by the door and howled off and on all night.

I had a Shitpoo (Shitzu/Poodle) once but he drowned in a toilet accident. I cried for days. My damm husband left the toilet seat up and 'Brownie' (that was the Shitpoo's name) fell into the toilet and drowned

My favorite dog, and the best dog I've ever known, was a doberdane named Bailey.

Bailey was an obedience machine. I set a hamburger in front of him once and told him to stay. I left the house, drove to town, ate diner, came back and he was still there laying on the floor looking at that hamburger with a 2 foot wide puddle of drool surrounding his mouth. Needless to say, I gave him the hamburger and fixed him some more treats too. Bailey was a special dog that had an intelligence that rivaled some people. He was loyal, loving, and the best damn dog I ever had. The day he died I had to take off work and cried like a baby for hours on end.

That's awful. I'm sorry to hear that.

Monster, I had 18 yrs of love from this little dog, he is gone but not forgotten RIP little Monster
