Thanks for the update. It seems to be spreading. Keeping my eyes open. When the SHTF everything is going to come down at once. Earthquake, meteor, nuke, zombies, aliens, fires, hurricane, tornado, 100 pound hailstones, EMP, airplanes falling, Volcanos erupting, civil war, martial law, famine, etc...etc.. It's a good idea to be prepped for everything. The best thing to prep for is death, because it is almost certain.

They are now telling residents of ND on the news basically if you see a skunk out now it is rabbid, they should still be in hibernation....I am so concerned about this that I have warned my children to run in the house or away if they see a skunk...I live in a small town and for the last few months it would randomly smell like skunk outside which is not normal in the winter...

The chief epidemiologist of the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters) Cochabamba, Arturo Quiñones, reported that to date the department has detected four cases of canine rabies that resulted in the potential exposure of 23 people being served.
"It is setting up of personnel who had dogs or cats aggression is case management and intervention to these people," he said.

He added that the service department also is conducting health monitoring for each suspected case that is in the department and is awaiting confirmation of results.
According to the national standard for human rabies prophylaxis and pets every suspected case of canine rabies should be investigated up to 24 hours of the filing of the notice of the case, and succeeded in identifying the animal abuser, and view the history of the animal abuser and abused and proceed to euthanasia of animals that had contact with a confirmed case of rabies.
It also works with the capture of stray dogs in a joint program with the Ministry of Health zoonoses that are subject to the same method of euthanasia should not be picked up by its owner.
On the other hand indicated that meetings are held to coordinate the next national campaign against canine rabies for June.
Regarding human rabies cases reported to date no reports Cochabamba or any event.

Maybe I am missing something here, but I live in a remote area of the appalacian mountains and rabies is always present. Every year there are racoons or skunks or something found to have rabies in the area. Pets are always required to have a rabies vaccine because it is a regular occurance.

They don't usually occur in heavily populated areas and the peak time is usually not until June/July. Our temps have been much lower the first quarter this year than last and last year rabies wasn't that bad. We have a situation on our hands.

I have had rabies shots when I was a teenager very painful I had over 160 injections on every scratch on my body from a cat that attacked me then 2 shots in butt 2 shots in arms and 2 shots in stomach the cat was not caught that attcaked me but we found it a month later and it didnt have rabies was just a mad cat over my male cat it attacked me I have all my animals vaccinated and believe me people you dont want these shots

Sorry to hear that. Yeah from what I have heard the shots are excruciating. Not only are they painful the treatment can cost a minimum of $10,000 if you don't have insurance. That burden gets placed on tax payers if you can't pay. Which in turn is bad for the economy.

I remember hearing a while back that the govt was dropping rabies vaccines for animals to eat and thought how crazy is that.They're spreading rabies through this and it may mutate into the Zombie virus.Just my 2 cents.
