Funny - I had the EXACT same astonishment yesterday when I looked at the current world quake map - this updated version where they use the circles rather than squares has an even better example of what you are talking about...

It's really picked-up this year - I remember a couple years ago it never looked this way - I watch it constantly, being in quake country myself
