This move in Cyprus was a response to Putin signing a law in Russia last week that prohibited foreign banks from opening branches in Russia... Now Russia and the E.U. are squared off, waiting to see who blinks first! And since the E.U. keeps delaying the vote, you can bet there are some heavy negotiations going on behind the scenes, either that or the E.U. is blinking rapidly. However, if the E.U. does indeed follow through on this, they will immediately call for the same action in Greece, Spain, & Italy... And if that happens, the E.U. as we know it is kaput! And the flotsam & Jetsam from that E.U. decision will begin to wash up on American & Japanese shores via the derivatives market 3 to 6 weeks later. We may well be watching one of the most quintessential moments in Economic history, EVER!!!
