Why does the devil in the History Channel's 'The Bible' look exactly like President Obama?

I think it's racist to show the devil as a black man whether he looks like Obama or not. It would be okay if all the characters were black; actually the Jesus character is whiter than I imagine the historical Jesus was. But showing the devil as a black man among good whites is definitely racist.

Since Jesus is supposed to be the good guy and Satan is supposed to be the bad guy, the significance of showing Jesus as a black man might be different. I'm wondering why they did not show all the characters as being Middle Eastern in appearance, since that's what they were in real life.
