I want to see horrid things done to the researchers abusing these animals. gangup
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20581494

You and AC5070268 need to visit your local children's hospital and you may change your mind. To truly want to see any animal suffer the abuses and atrocities these creatures went through is disturbing. Hopefully you both just had an angry quick response before really thinking about your replies. Otherwise...you're both no better than the monsters working at the labs Now that would be sad coming from the self proclaimed enlightened posters that frequent GLPee.

there's a reason that chimpanzees are the preferred test subject when studying anything from birth defects & toxicology to viral strains & vaccinations.

depending on the source referenced, chimp DNA is 96-99% the same as human DNA.

since it would be completely immoral, illegal, & unethical to use human test subjects... ( sheep) ...... the chimpanzee becomes the human guinea pigs.

I've researched this topic extensively, and because of what I've found....I've often wondered who the ~real~ savages are in our society.

hint: it's not the animals

Yes! And one strange thing...in their reasoning it's unethical to use humans as test subjects, where are the ethics in using a creature who is unable to voice it's objection to being used as a test subject?

Yeah...Yeah...but most remember that a way higher percentage of shampoo commercials were with women and their silky smooth hair. Amazingly enough although I'm a guy, I also know that men use shampoo, but still find it funny that with the story being about freeing some primates, you had to make sure women were not singled out, maligned or blamed for anything alone. What a proud reply and I'm totally impressed of your knowledge that not only women from benefit from MANkind's scientific achievements. Geeesh.

Good question and pretty sad too. Most religions go right along with this form of experimentation too. They have the belief that their god told them that they're so high and mighty, that they should use anything they perceive as "below them" to be used for whatever purposes they see fit. For years they (science) government AND religions had almost a joy from using developmentally disabled humans too. Once again...that distorted belief of using creatures you perceive as below you. Humanity at it's worst. It irritates me even more with religions as most proclaim this fake ideal of loving your fellow man/creatures of the earth, then turn around and perform some of the most heinous acts upon that man/creature that history has ever witnessed.

letting them go would be certain death
wake up and think on it for a bit
they are rehabilitated in steps
now they can beginto live naturally
maybe as soon as they adjust they could be freed to the wild but then they would warn all the other monkeys what they know so maybe they do have a life sentence
either way they have more freedoms
be glad

Re: Laboratory chimps caged for 30 years get released and see the sky fot the first time
Great video, thanks for sharing!

Couple points:

1. Watching that video, especially when the chimps were apprehensive about exiting their "cage," pensively peering out into the "unknown," I was reminded of Plato's "The Allegory of the Cave."

2. Again, another example where I wish there was not a music backing track, designed to invoke an emotional response. If you have never been aware of this, notice it from now on in videos you watch on youtube. If you still have one or more feet firmly planted inside the matrix and you still watch television programming, listen for it and notice it when you watch shows and commercials- Music is added as a backing track to coerce you into feeling a certain way. It is not honest, and it is an example of someone else programming your mind- literally, causing you to feel certain emotions you may or may not have come to feel genuinely on your own...Which begs the question, "If I would have felt those feelings anyway, without the backing music track, then why was it necessarily included?"

3. What type of paradigm-shattering moments have I experienced in my lifetime? What further paradigm-shifts, and monumental changes in perception of reality further await me?*

*What terms exist for such an idea- that of a "dramatic, life-altering shift in consciousness," a "monumental paradigm change," etc.? Please do share, what terms or word(s) would you use to describe the experience those chimpanzees had in the video?

Why would someone keep an animal caged for 30 years and surprised they remembered the sky enough to be happy about it, if this isn't an exaggeration they haven't seen the sky since 9 years before I was born.

We are now voluntarily caged to our electronics. Do you notice how many more people walk around with their heads down. Try running into one and see how pissed they get because YOU weren't watching where THEY were going. These chimps get to evolve to their new surroundings AND appreciate them, while the human chimps are devolving and have a continuous unappreciative and contemptuous attitude towards the beauty that surrounds them. Why?

Lot of people serving life sentences or committed to mental institutions because someone lied to steal from another or to protect them self by letting someone else bear the blame.
This reminded me of those people since I knew one personally that lived in a single room like a cage for years before dieing just so someone else could take what was his.
Sad world we live in.
But I do wonder why they wasnt allowed outside daily for a bit of time.
