They took him to a secluded spot, bound his legs and spanked his knees with their billy sticks a few times. For the most part (you can never say ALL of any group) cops in this country are corrupt assholes, only out to keep their jobs and raise money for their department (this keeping their jobs). Their system of "target numbers" (because saying "quota" is bad, even though that's exactly what it is) just causes any potential good cops to be weeded out or gotten rid of. Imagine you are a cop, your department head says you have to write 500 speeding tickets this month. In your area though, there is no one speeding.. so you have to start looking for people speeding. 1mph over? Ticket, you have to make your numbers after all. If you don't make those numbers, it reflects badly upon you, hindering your possibilities to be promoted or receive a raise. The good cops stay at the bottom, the corrupt assholes move up to higher ranks where they have more control. It's a system of weeding out the honest cops and reinforcing the corrupt ones. RatMan |

| Captain Spaulding User ID: 36426817 United States03/18/2013 07:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Six kids just got felony tickets here in Phoenix for being in a park talking after playing basketball. 5 MINUTES after 10pm closing time. 5 MINUTES! 3 tickets each. FELONY CRIMINAL TRESPASSING was one of the 3 tickets they each got. Felonies that will follow them for the rest of their lives. No drugs, no booze, no swearing. Just sitting and talking after the game. I was there with my dog. One of my good friends is the park ranger (that's why I'm allowed to be there in the dog park after closing). He was PISSED OFF at the sergeant that wrote the tickets. Do you think any one of those kids will have any respect for the law after that? Want to bet they'll come back at 3am and vandalize the place? My ranger friend knows his job is going to be more difficult now too. These guys should lighten up. Joke with the kid, get the kids respect so he won't go out of his way to pull stunts like that. Geez... Now he'll even try harder to make fools of them. Guarantee it. |
