Why use something as old and clunky as a B-52 when they have Stealth Bombers, Cruise Missiles, and Submarines?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20253056 B-52's are fly by wire, the old school planes that don't rely on modern electronics. They can harden their modern planes and stealth bombers all they want, nothing works perfectly. If DPRK were able to actually hit us with an EMP and fried our electronics in some way, the older planes would be least affected, such as B-52's. They would fly but they've been upgraded with modern mission avionics..they need that to do the job. the way to defeat hardening is to overwhelm the hardening.
