the Swiss, whos money is GOLD linked pays a high dollar wage only cause the fiat dollar has lost so much value against gold supported currencies comparatively .
American gold, what there is of it, if any, is still officially valued at 34 dollars an oz on accountings via the FED.
Why dont they change it? Cause there is none of it for the American people. All the gold forced out of the hands of the people in 1933 WAS SOLD TO THE FED at a 60% loss, to a private company for their own profits.
Read the executive order 1602 of April 5 1933 yourself if you dont think its so

in fact another reason the Fed is allowed to continue to value their 'official' gold at 34 dollars is that they dont get taxed on any increase in value.
The chosen know the power of taxes, and the power that comes with administering them, that's why they always end up in charge of them at every level

YEs... Sen Tom Hankins D-Iowa is working on it...

America’s 3.6 million minimum-wage workers will get a nearly 40 percent pay raise, if Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, has his way.

A few weeks after President Barack Obama touted a minimum wage increase to $9.00 in his State of the Union speech, the veteran senator introduced a plan to go even further, raising the low end of legal earnings from $7.25 to $10.10. For a person working 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year, Harkin's bill would mean an increase of $5,928.

Did you read the article you linked?

No one is proposing raising the minimum wage to $22 -$33 per hour.

"Hope it passes" you say. There's nothing to pass. No one has proposed, or drafted, or introduced such a bill.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2373142

HELLO?? ANYONE?

NOBODY HAS PROPOSED, DRAFTED, OR INTRODUCED SUCH A BILL, NOR WILL ANYONE.

I hate it when bullshit-spewing trolls like OP post their shit here.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2373142

 Quoting: Seattle88

No, OP, Harkin isn't working on a bill to raise the minimum wage to $22 or $33 per hour. OK?

Small and independently owned companies will support it, because they know the current minimum wage is truly not self sustainable for someone. They get more on welfare than min wage.

Do you even know what that would cause? How about a $12

McDonald's hamburger? Or $8 for some bread? People that make

statements like this do not look at the domino effect that

would take place, as it always does. When the inflation

occurs to cover those wages, those folks when then be

sitting in the same place they are today.

Finially a REASONABLE POST! BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO

Serfdom is the status of peasants under feudalism, specifically relating to manorialism. It was a condition of bondage or modified slavery which developed primarily during the High Middle Ages in Europe and lasted in some countries until the mid-19th century.

Simple questions/answers.

What is your time worth?

What is the time of others worth?

If you needed leaves raked in your yard, would you pay someone 22 dollars an hour for that?

If you needed your HVAC replaced would you pay them the same as someone who raked the leaves in your yard, or would you place higher value on an individual that worked hard to gain those skills?

If the non-skilled worker makes more, what should happen to the skilled workers wage?

What happens to the cost of the product or service of the skilled worker?

The "Trickle" effect would be that everything that requires any sort of skill would go up exponentially.

Now, if you want to argue socialism, then it has the reverse effect. If you made the same as a skilled worker would you ever work hard enough to gain those skills when you could slack off and rake leaves?

People go to the path of least resistance. When you put restrictions on capitalism you loose incentives to be the hardest worker, the greater innovator. The best and the smartest figure out it doesn't pay to be someone's slave! So, they rake leaves, but if you value a persons skill and effort they should be paid for it accordingly.

If ops employees are worth it, then they should get paid for it!

Though, I think it is pure lunacy for OP to say that everyone regardless of their skill or effort should make that same wage! I guess if I could get paid 22 dollars an air for consuming oxygen, we'll have a lot of outstanding breathers out there!

minimum wage is a laughable way of allowing some bureaucrat to control the price of your labor and time, and the costs of the goods you produce.

Why do you think China's goods are so cheap, in spite of them having to be shipped across the pacific ocean?

Why do you think jobs are going over there?

It's because we are no longer being competitive.

Go ahead... raise the minimum wage. We'll be importing stale big macs on ocean liners for the few of us that can afford them.....

You know.... the Unions get it.... and the CEO's get it... I say it is time for EVERYONE to get it.

I own a small business... and I pay $25.00 hour to my staff. They work very hard for me... and help me MAKE MOENY... they ARE WORTH IT..... it is simply the COST of doing business...

Even though I am an independent... this is something I can wrap my support around.

You know... my business is still a BIG Success even in a bad economy... and I say... spread the wealth around...

Also... it is an inner projection that there is ALWAYS PLENTY for everyone... I don't live from a place of LACK so my staff does NOT LACK what they need to do their job.... or support thier personal dreams.

of course.. I only have a very small staff of 5.. so you can make an argument that I am TOO SMALL to count... Smile.

As you GIVE to your staff... people who work for you SUPPORT your VISIONS and DREAMS with their love and energy.. so it is a WIN WIN!.

Smile.

The op doesnt understand the meaning of a whole lot of words he uses, which is so very typical of sloppy thinking progressives who want to solve things simply with changing definitions of words to whatever they need at the moment, including the word 'earn', assuming that if one extorts unearned value for their involvement which doesnt actually provide those wages that it is nevertheless 'earned' as decreed thanks to an otherwise uninvolved third party which itself profits due to it.

You 'earn' 33 dollars only if you actually generate at least 33 dollars of profit.

Earning and extortion are different, and the differences arent clear, then get a dictionary and educate yourself

Great way to devalue or currency. You really believe that flippin burgers or stocking shelfs is worth $22/hr??????

You stated you own your own company and pay your workers a good wage... Are your workers doing a skilled trade? If min wage goes to 22, youll be paying them upwards of 40-50 an hour.

Raising wages won't do shit but make everything cost more.

Lower the price of gas, milk, eggs, and everything else.

What a idiotic statement, and I highly doubt you are a business owner, if you are you won't be for much longer.

YOU SEE.. minimum wages are entry level jobs, for kids or uneducated workers. Can you see a kid working at McD's making 22 a hour? REALLY???????

I own a business have had this particular business for 23 years, I too own one which has made it through difficult economic times, I DO NOT MAKE $22 per hour.

If people want more of an income they work hard become an expert, educat themselves, work to improve their lives. When are you lefties going to get it through your heads it is OK to earn your money it is ok to improve your lives by working harder with determination.
