God made the earth to be specifically inhabited. More research into astronomy tells us we are indeed the only life and in a certain spot to be able to observe the rest of the universe (observation through corona of solar eclipse, contradicts copernican principle).

True, God is not a person, and is outside our 3 dimensions of time, space and matter. Outside of our continuum. Either way, there is a cause for the universe. The big bang does not explain it.

The problem with your thinking is that you place human limitation on God.

Think of it this way: If you see a massive building, you automatically assume that it was built for a reason -- after all, such a thing requires money, time, effort. . . . In other words, humans have to givs something of themselves in order to create.

In assuming that a large universe = no God (or rather, that a large universe = a waste of space of empty), you imply that such a thing took effort for God.

Suppose you could will a universe into existence. Suppose you could then will that universe out of existence. Both acts require no effort or sacrifice on your part.

How is it a waste?

And besides, God wants us to live by faith. If the universe were small, we'd be more sure of God's existence.
