Legally no. The receiver (serial numbered part of the gun) is twchnically the "firearm. Anytime you send a firearm outside of state it must be sent to a FFL licensee to be transferred.

If I wanted a gun with the SOLE purpose of protecting myself and my home against an invader, what firearm is best suited, assuming I don't want to miss, and have the intruder take my weapon and kill me ?

Is a shotgun best ?

Something called a pump-action shotgun ?

I know next to nothing about guns.

Its already trickling in. Problem with ammo everyone buying it all at once exhausted supplies practically overnight. We have tons of range ammo, but very little hollow points.

Check www.gunbroker.com. Youll be bidding on it (usually) against other people but it Is available. Otherwise check ammoengine.com which will list dealers by the cheapest price per round. I promise within 3-4 months youll be able to order as much as you want. Spply will be high and demand much lower.

Yes. Most ffls charge between 25-35$ to transfer a firearm plus shipping. Its well worth having a knowledgeable person take care of it for ou, and not going to prison.

Thatd be cheap. Ffl holders can ship guns via usps priority flat rate so theyd pay 15$ tops for shipping plus whatever they deem their service is worth.

No. Wo would they snitch on? Ive only personally heard of one person "snitching" and he was subject of a huge international gun smuggling ring investigation.
