I never said the hits would stop the present theft. I'm saying the Russian "dons" will seek retribution, and they won't simply be asking for repayment.

It's like the goons who come to collect on a mafia loan from a debtor who hasn't paid up. He get's his legs broken. Does that mean the borrower is able to pay back the loan? No. But it does men he has broken legs.

The hitmen who knock off the bankers won't be making threats. They will just quietly do their job: Hit and Run. In. Hit. Out.

After a series of targeted hits, the EU bankers will probably take notice, and that could affect their future actions.

It's unlikely that the Russian crime leaders gets paid back. But what is almost certain is that there will be some bankers whose lives are in great danger as are their family members.

You watch to many movies. Noone is threatened by russian thugs.

You are naive. I don't watch too many movies these days and have rarely watched a mafia movie in my entire life. I saw one Godfather movie, but none of the other popular movies of that era.

Russian hit men don't threaten. According to my source on this sort of thing (his wife's family was mafia), he says professional hits are often done by Russian hit men.

You might recall a couple of high profile hits in recent years. In one case the man was contaminated with a high level of radioactive material. His body became grotesque in its appearance. The victim made public appearances in an attempt to shame the Russian government.

It had no impact on the Russian government. They were behind it.

Putin would stand 100% behind the 'dons' if they decide to start killing a few people. He is thoroughly outraged and pissed by this theft.

IOW, the Germans would get zero cooperation from the Russian government in trying to find the killers.

If Putin is so outraged, that he would consider such a serious detoriation in the relationship towards Germany, then he should foot the bil.

The choice still stands for Russia, they take a hit or they pay it themselves. There is no reason at all, why Germany should pay for russian money.

You're confusing financial payments with the rule of the 'dons.'

The EU banks have pulled their levers, and the financial pains will be meted out to their favor. The Cyprian banks are doomed, so the true owners will swoop in and pick the bones as best they can.

But hit men aren't accountants. That's not how they collect. The don's pick up the phone, calls his lieutenant in, and hands him a slip of paper with a name on it or mentions a name. The Lt. brings in their intermediary and let's him know he has a job to be done. The intermediary contacts the pro and arranges payment.

Ten little Indians all in a row.

The EU bankers get their control, but a few get shot and killed, maybe more. If Putin decides to get nasty, one of them get the radioactive poisoning treatment as a message.

What's the message? Do NOT mess with Russian money!
