My food fight: Irritable Bowel Disease vs. Monsanto
1 in every 250 persons in the UK are affected by inflammatory bowel diseases. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a type of inflammatory bowel disease called Ulcerative Colitis. It affects up to 120,000 people in the UK, that's about 1 in 500 and between 6,000 and 12,000 new cases are diagnosed every year.(i) For me it meant that I had to keep running to the bathroom up to 25 times a day. My large bowel at the worst of times would produce bloody mucus and I would have severe cramps. Due to the toxins created by the inflammation it also meant that I would be severely nauseous and could not hold down liquids, let alone food.

That's an excellent article I read it earlier today. :)

Re: My food fight: Irritable Bowel Disease vs. Monsanto
My cousin on my Celtic side has had trouble for many years until recently when he did the exact same thing. He now surveys every restaurant in town to know what they serve. We have maybe three choices in the downtown Detroit area for breakfast now...but he is healthier than I've ever seen him.

Avoid GM crap, it isn't food. It is something else entirely.

Cheers,

Re: My food fight: Irritable Bowel Disease vs. Monsanto
Posted this on another thread but it's so true. Try it.

Regular corn (GMO) or popcorn hurts to digest. Lots of people won't eat it because it hurts your guts.

Friend and me bought some organic Non-GMO label corn and tried it - absolutely no problems. Did the same with non-GMO popcorn and had zero pain or issues.

GMO is evil. Stop eating immediately.

Easy avocado experiment:

Buy some organic Non-GMO avocados. Eat and save pits.

Next buy some GMO regular produce avocados. (eat at your own risk). Save the pits.

Keep pits from both on counter in separate piles.

Watch what pits look like by the end of a week or 2. You'll probably never buy GMO again.

I wonder if this is what causes a problem for my friend? It happened to her while she lived in Seattle and for the last 15 years she has had an odor no doctor can detect the source of...can overwhelm a room of people and has caused her to become so isolated. Anyone else heard of this?

I have no clue what you eat in the US or what many people eat in the UK.
