This has been on going for weeks.

19 hours yesterday.

17 hours day before.

Its been on going for the last couple of weeks steady.

Pole Shift Ning reports and follows the Magnetosphere everyday.

Around here it only seems to get air time if its severe and gets peoples attention. Stupid really.

This needs to be watched full time and thank God Pole Shift Ning does.

I'm no astronomer, but when the magnetosphere behaves this way does it not mean that there is a space body, be it a planet, comet or asteroid causing the disruption?

It looks the weakest I've ever seen it.

Bear in mind that this is a model and may not represent what is truly going on.

Its going crazy because its being hit by lots of solar particles.

Can someone expand on the meaning of "Double peaked" sun.
Is it reference to Solar Cycle, Cycle 24, and/or its odd behavior (weaker, quieter than anticipated for awhile)?

nothing happening, many time and many people try to predict and less are true. tired see word "soon", what if i asking how soon ? they answer will be soon enough, very soon, etc and the B.S.

Ok...I am completely ignorant about this stuff. I watch spaceweather and solarham when they announce a flare and cme but I don't really know jack about astrophysics. Doesn't the earth's magnetosphere drag out and away from solar wind like it does from flares and cme's?

I am asking because I do not know. To my ignorant self, it seem like every time one of these weird shaped coronal holes opens up, we get an increase in solar wind. Wouldn't that cause the magnetosphere to "stretch" out away from the earth in the direction the solar wind is moving?

I once heard (and it is prob wrong) that what could cause a solar generated EMP on earth is not the impact of the solar flare, cme or the solar winds, but it's when the magnetosphere actually recoils and "springs back" into place.

Anyone know if this is true? Partially true? Total bullshit?

Dr. AstroKunt here to tell you that the computer algorithms NASA is using for their magnetosphere simulation need tweaking and further testing, and the images will soon look normal. And if not, it is a lens flare issue.
