On Friday's 20/20, which detailed the Aurora movie theater mass shooting, they profiled two African American men who chose to save others in danger. One of the young black men helped escort a mother and her two children to safety as he got shot in the leg. Another young black man helped shield two people, one who was shot in the head, behind a door as the shooter approached them.

The show interviewed a white sociologist those profiles. He reported on his study which explored which types of people were more inclined to save others in crisis situations.

Another study showed that whites were not as likely to perform heroic acts because they were 95% more likely to be at work than at the scene of a crime.
