emerald_glow User ID: 35688965 United States 03/20/2013 03:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Does it seem or move like a sphere? No. Is Mercury a sphere? It is. How fast Mercury orbiting? 48 km/sec average. How fast this object moving? Well - as far as I could see - it took about 14 hours to take a distance that equal to the Suns diameter, which is 1,400.000 km. 1,400,000:14=100,000. That is 100,000km per hour, 27km per sec. So the object is moving actually slower, than Mercury. A lot slower. It is possible, that we see Mercury moving slower, than in reality, (48 km/sec) because its orbit is not straight, but elliptical. Yet, I dont think it would explain such a huge difference. This is just a rough estimate; correct me if I have mistaken somewhere. Last Edited by emerald_glow on 03/20/2013 03:32 PM Emerald_Glow |
