It's not even that at all. He found the flaw, ok, but if he did stop there nothing would have happened.

The reason he's charged, is because he then made a script, like a very simple program, to mine all the personal data, save it on his personal harddrive and claims he intended to give the 120,000 logs of personal information to a journalist to show the flaw.

A question for those who think this prosecution is unjust.
Suppose I'm walking past your house one day when nobody is home and I notice your front door is wide open. Being the highly curious type suppose I walk in and look around. While looking around I see a list of your business clients laying on a table. suppose I take a picture of that list, leave the premises and provide the list to a reporter.
