While you shouldn't be following a cop that close, that's not how it started. I'm guessing the cop had already been acting like a jackass and the driver pulled out his phone and started filming it midway.

I had a cop that kept pulling on me on I20 heading to LA from Texas. After he'd get up along side of me, he'd back off and trail, rinse and repeat. I finally figured out what he was wanting - a race. I was in a 95 Mustang GT at the time and I guess he wanted to see how his Ford Interceptor would do on an open stretch of highway.

I was hesitant at first, but sure enough, the moment he lined up with me, I punched it and he did too. After getting up to around 130, he started backing off and I followed suit. He rolled down his windows, gave me a thumbs up, and took the next exit.

He resigned...but it's illegal to exceed the speed limit, and I can put on my brakes whenever I want, if you follow too close that's reckless driving...I don't exceed the limit no matter how many cars are behind or around me, and if you ride my bumper I will hit the brakes.

What are the odds of two vehicles traveling side by side and going under the limit on a highway? No one is afraid to do the limit around a cop, but they won't go over if they are smart.

It was a bonehead move once the guy passed to retake him and then slow down, but you are not supposed to pass on the right and unless there is a minimum posted the cop wasn't breaking the law. He deserves to get a beating for driving like a fwit. He overtakes the COP on the nearside wich is dangerous. Then Gets a friendly reminder from the police about the posted speed limit and still has the nerve to wine like a little slut. What a dick. The COP could have written him up for a fist full of infringements which he in my opinion he should have but he didnt and yet this F*&^wit still winges.
When police drive in the outer lane at the posted speed limit they do it for very good reasons. They could be doing a number of things like checking speed looking of someone driving the oposite direction or just simply politely reminding people of the speed limit. When fheads like the driver of the ute overtake them on the inside after tailgating them what is he supposed to do. Especially when there are other poeple around watching. You know the COPS only enforce the law to those who break it. So stop wining and start thinking. Show me some real abuse of power and I will bark louder than anyone you know.
