Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36537225 The asshat with the camera should not have been following the cop that close in the begining. Pass a cop on the right you are asking for trouble. While you shouldn't be following a cop that close, that's not how it started. I'm guessing the cop had already been acting like a jackass and the driver pulled out his phone and started filming it midway. That cop was just being a jackass. I had a cop that kept pulling on me on I20 heading to LA from Texas. After he'd get up along side of me, he'd back off and trail, rinse and repeat. I finally figured out what he was wanting - a race. I was in a 95 Mustang GT at the time and I guess he wanted to see how his Ford Interceptor would do on an open stretch of highway. I was hesitant at first, but sure enough, the moment he lined up with me, I punched it and he did too. After getting up to around 130, he started backing off and I followed suit. He rolled down his windows, gave me a thumbs up, and took the next exit. Not all cops are bad. that is a cool story dude. in my old ways i was a speed demon(my idol at that time was ayton senna) hence my driving record history........lol Sounds like me. About the only law I'm usually ever guilty of breaking is the speed limit. I've been pulled over 3 times for doing in excess of 100 mph. In Texas, anything over 99 mph gets you a ride in the back of the cruiser. In 2 of 3 times, I got a stern warning and allowed to go on my merry way. The first time it happened, I thought I was going to jail. He told me he wrote the ticket for 99 in a 45 because he didn't feel like calling in backup (he was a bike cop) and told me to slow down, and take my speeding to the county next door. Keep in mind, my lic plates are "MR EVIL". Any time I get pulled over, I follow the same procedure EVERY time. 1: Roll down all windows. 2: Turn car off 3: Music OFF 4: Drivers Lic and Insurance ready to hand over 5: BOTH hands on the wheel at the 10 and 2 position I've gotten out of more traffic stops because I'm extremely polite, by rolling down the windows I'm showing I have nothing to hide and no weapons or surprises to his/her safety, no music to annoy the officer, and my hands are where they should be, again making the officer feel more comfortable. For the most part, the cops around here already know me by my plates and other drivers calling in to bitch and moan about me speeding by them or what not. Once the officer talks to me, they usually tell me they knew who I was, love my plates, and tell me to slow down and get lost. I smile and go on my merry way. Do I feel like I'm giving up any rights by rolling the windows down and allowing the officer full visibility into the car? Not at all. Just goes to show you that if you are polite and accommodating to the officer pulling you over, you have a much better chance and him or her showing you a little kindness and being a bit more lenient than trying to be a hard ass to tell your friends stories of how you got smacked upside the head with a baton. |

He was going under the speed limit. The actual law is the flow with traffic tho. He was doing the limit and if the "flow" is 90 and the limit is 65 then someone is going to get a ticket...the limit is the law, not the flow. Why do you think he is doing the limit??
