That is exactly what they are doing right this moment, in a cash society.
Label it "cashless" all you want, the end result is the same so long as the value of your savings is denominated in a 1st world currency.

I'm sure after this is over the vast majority of Cypriots will indeed do that. Imagine the time they steal all or some of your money and you don't even have that option.
