Congressional Report: Obamacare Leads to Skyrocketing Premiums, 200 Percent Possible
An exhaustive study by three congressional committees delivers startling news about the dire effects of Obamacare: President Barack Obama’s signature legislation could increase health insurance premiums by over 200 percent and render insurance coverage unaffordable for millions of Americans.

Broadly, the new report declares that Obamacare “breaks its core promise” to make healthcare coverage affordable.

The report, “The Price of Obamacare’s Broken Promises,” was prepared by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Majority Staff; Senate Committee on Finance, Minority Staff; and Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, Minority Staff.

Latest: Should ObamaCare Be Repealed? Vote in Urgent National Poll

“Studies and analyses from the Congressional Budget Office, independent actuaries, state insurance commissioners, health plans, benefit consultants, and others have reached the same conclusion: Obamacare will significantly increase premiums,” the congressional report states.

“Some estimates show some Americans facing startling premium increases of 203 percent because of the law.

“Higher healthcare premiums are the last thing single young adults and working families can afford. Yet contrary to what the president promised, that is exactly what Obamacare is projected to do.”

When Obamacare’s most costly requirements go into effect in 2014, households earning as little as $46,000 a year will receive no premium assistance, yet will be forced to accept “unaffordable” premium increases, according to the report [link to www.newsmax.com] wtf

Obamacare is not about controlling health care cost.

It's about control.

I think those of us who were against this boondoggle predicted that rates AND taxes would go through the roof...

Lets see next I predict that services will be in the toilet...and the permanently brain dead will continue to believe that healthcare is inhumane in this country and people have to SELL THEIR HOUSES IN ORDER TO PAY for HEALTHCARE...

Re: Congressional Report: Obamacare Leads to Skyrocketing Premiums, 200 Percent Possible
My premiums just climbed 40% ... and since I have had my policy for awhile I am grandfathered in and do NOT have all the EXTRA stuff they loaded up Obama Care with.

I anticipate my bare bones policy will climb again next year as Obama Care takes effect so I will by paying at least DOUBLE what I was paying.

Just for my own information I asked for a quote on a new "bare bones" policy, which by law now HAS to include all the bells and whistles that are in Obama Care ... and IT IS DOUBLE what my policy cost.

What would that cost (for a new plan next year)be?

Single older person, great health, try on the order of nearly $8,000! per year for ONE person!!

Sheesh ... many small employers are going to HAVE to drop coverage for their employees at the new rates that are going to be charged!!

I project that Obama care costs by themselves have a good chance of throwing the US back into a recession ... even if the EU can somehow avoid going down the tubes during the next year.
