Undertakers streak
i sure hope they dont let that nobody cm punk beat the undertaker at wrestlemania. he should retire with the streak not broken. if he was to lose the streak why against punk? this is a new guy that was on ecw and he sucked on there also. i dont know why the story writers wrote him to be a champion when he was just a nobody. there are many stars that have been with the company since it was wwf that havent even been champ and deserve it. wanted to see taker vs lesnar or cena.

Re: Undertakers streak
Sir, with respect, one has to disagree.

The Undertaker, or 'Dead Man', as he is known, is largely representative of the wrestling antediluvial era when the stories were presented as real. One can see the expression of this in the modern 'Dead Man' insofar as he is presented as being almost otherworldly and possessed of seemingly supernatural powers.

CM Punk, however, is 'after the flood'. He is almost a wrestling pastiche of Beckett's 'everyman', but who is driven to succeed in order to make himself rise above his peers in station and not assuming an inherent right to his position.

On this basis, one believes that a fairer outcome would be for CM Punk to indeed beat the Undertaker, but not before being subjected to a level of pugilistic fury and arm-holds never before experienced.

This would assist with putting the Undertaker to rest and also help CM Punk cement himself as an icon of the modern era. Remember that, the modern era. The Undertaker simply does not represent the modern era and one opines that it is time for the modern younger talent to metaphorically take the bull by the horns and present themselves as the new wrestling icons.

CM Punk literally carried the company for well over a year. Not only was he their best talker during that time, but he was a fighting champion and performed weekly at an incredible level of skill.

Unlike many of their other wrestlers, who are very stale characters, much like the Undertaker, who do not change or evolve at all, CM Punk transformed from one of their greatest Baby Face's to be one of their most despised heels overnight.

So many of their top-tier wrestlers are over the hill and are not anywhere near their prime... CM Punk still is.

Wrestlers like Triple H, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, The Rock... are all PART-Timers... unworthy of the time they steal from superior talent that are young and ready to shine.

CM Punk has earned his #1 spot and his time, unlike Undertaker's, is NOW.

Undertaker is practically a fucking GRANDFATHER.

Give it up already old man. Go take your grand kids to the park. Go see a movie starring the Rock. Go invest in some stock and go shopping with your kids like Triple H...

Do you get what I'm saying here?

Tired of HAS BEENS, headlining sporting events. Have some diginity and grace...walk away while you still can.

You've made your money, had your chances to shine... let someone else have their chance now. It's the way of things.

cm punk a icon? yeah whatever. he carried the belt for over a year because thats how it is written in the story line. in reality he couldnt do it. idk why they gave him a chance to be a champ and they made him stay champ for that long. there is lots of wrestlers that have been with the company since it was wwf that deserve the title. shit give the belt to the brooklyn brawler. he has been there for a long ass time and not once did he get the belt. there is lots of deserving wrestlers.

Who in the blue hell are you? Are you Damien Sandow? The Undertaker will never eeeeeeeeever lose at Wrestlemania and he will continue to wrestle one match each year only at Wrestlemania for several years and retire at 33-0 and sacrifice John Cena and announce he is a member of the Illuminati.

I agree with this, although I am a huge Undertaker fan-It is simply time for Taker to pass the torch.Taker has probably only wrestled 6 times total in the last 2 years and WWE has milked the streak for all the money they can-they made an Undertaker 20 and 0 dvd last year.I look for Taker to pass the torch Sunday and CM Punk will become one of the biggest stars in wrestling history.

Re: Undertakers streak
The streak is safe, guaranteed. Punk has asked for extended time off and with UT seeking revenge over Paul Bearer even the idiots that write for WWE know to give the fans that payoff. Punk is elevated enough that breaking the streak does nothing for him. If it is ever broken - which I doubt - it would need to be by whoever they are going to push who could use breaking the streak as his claim to fame. That ain't Punk.

As much as I would like to see it (big Punk fan) I can't see Taker losing the streak ever now. It's one of those things I think WWE will keep as a huge talking/celebratory point about Mania.

On a side note, I see Cena beating Rock then immediately losing to Dolphin Ziggler (cashing in the MITB)
Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regiment to keep my mind limber.

Rock already let that slip in an interview. The time is close to turn Cena. Having him beat the Rock would be a step toward the turn. Losing immediately to Ziggler could be a part of him turning. When the crowd chants "boring" at your #1 full time guy, it is time to make some changes.

Try it- after the withdrawal pains pass you'll find your mind is actually capable of more critical thinking.
