My dentist today said that mercury amalgam fillings are not bad for you - help debunk please

It's easy to find about toxicity of mercury in the head related to Alzheimer and other diseases. But first you gotta ask him since when a dentist is an expert in chemistry?

The mercury filling expand and contract with hot and cold. They will eventually crack the tooth in half and you will be looking at paying $1200.00 for a crown. If you can drill them out a coupe of teeth a year it will save you a lot of money. I would find another dentist.

the worst with those fillings is:

- make them
- implement them
- when they get old and brake
- take them out again

this is when your body gets flooded with that crap, just having them in your tooth in perfect condition is not a big threat.

you do know that mercury&amalgam is used in other fillings partly as well but not declared? ask your dentist about the ingredients of every filling.
a dentist technician i am friends with is aware of all this, as it is his profession. to his knowing, mercury/amalgam is one of the best materials to work with and to last long.
there are some plastic or ceramic materials which have bad ingredients as well.

Yes- mercury fillings are deadly. You need to see a mercury free dentist that is educated on the proper removal of them. IAMOT standard is ideal. Look up the book Whole Body Dentistry. You will also need a good naturopath or integrative dr that is competent in detox protocols to administer IV vitamin C directly after removal of the silver death. Educate yourself!!!

I've had a few of mine replaced, but they replace them with a plastic resin so I doubt that is good for you.

I still have 1-2 metal fillings in my molars. but i'm not messing with them until I have a problem with those teeth. They've held there integrity for 25 years (I'm 36) so I'm of the opinion if they're not broke/causing pain, leave them in.

Leave them be if not causing problems. Your tooth hurts...so get a root canal and have it replaced with whatever.

I had 3 teeth mercury worked on just because I thought it would be a good thing to do (I had the money)...trouble is 2 of those got badly infected and needed root canals afterwards anyway. Those teeth had never caused problems before. I just got scared about leeching mercury. Would have been better to leave them alone.

Next time a dentist says "oh dont worry about it". You tell him/her "okay, lets put mercury amalgam fillings in all of your teeth ... dont worry I'll pay for it".

I guarantee they will say no thank you. Also most dentist's themselves do not have mercury amalgam fillings, and the ones that do, end up removing them.

I bet your doctor also wants you to use extra fluoride. That way he can charge you more when your teeth start to look ugly, to pretty them up again.

My sister got very sick from them. She had mercury poisoning and it took her several years to detox.

Not every dentist is qualified to remove those filings. She had to go to another city to get them removed by a specialist, because if they are taken out wrong it could kill you. In fact it has killed people before.

The ADA may be in bed with the companies who make the filling material, like own stock in the companies.

There are also online sites that can take a lock of hair and diagnose poison/metals in your body. Hair tests are the best test.

First of all I would find another dentist, fast. Then find a dentist who specializes in those type of filling removal.

I have an option to pull the tooth - it is a back molar and its opposing tooth is missing already, so it has no function other than jawbone stability.
Can I have a normal dentist pull the tooth, or do I need a special mercury literate dentist?
Or the dentist said I could add more filling (it would not be amalgam, but would be a white type of filling) on TOP of the mercury filling (lol jeez).
