independent-foreclosure-review Important Updates
Important Update

On March 18, 2013, more than 4.2 million people were sent postcard notices about payments they will receive as a result of an agreement between federal banking regulators and 13 mortgage servicers. For more information, please call 1-888-952-9105, which is the number for Rust Consulting--the Paying Agent--that is printed on each postcard.

Thank you for posting this.

I was able to search for additional info, and actually decided to contact them.

This may be helpful for some other readers:

For borrowers with mortgage loans with the following servicers: Aurora, Bank of America, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, MetLife Bank, Morgan Stanley, PNC, Sovereign, SunTrust, U.S. Bank, and Wells Fargo,1 see: Payment Agreement.

For borrowers with mortgage loans with the following servicers: EverBank/EverHome Mortgage Company, Financial Freedom (OneWest), GMAC Mortgage, and IndyMac Mortgage Services (OneWest), the Independent Foreclosure Review process continues.

And, note that the time-frame that they are centering on is only during 2009-2010.

People who are currently having problems are not included in this review.

Re: independent-foreclosure-review Important Updates
My family has been drug out on this forever. Thought this might be a silver lining too:
On thursday I think it was the FCC settled with Chase to pay out 14 million to homeowners that had force placed insurance through Assurant. We had it force placed three times. I have googled this all day, and really, money isn't even close to what I think Justice would be, but maybe it will ease the suffering.
My ma n pa were forced out of their home right at Christmas in 2011, and now live with myself and my husband. I personally have been crazed with stressed, and my parents are at the bottom of the barrel. They need a little hope, a small light at the end of this crappy dark tunnel. We'll see. I wish everyone luck, and keep hopeful.

Thanks for this. I will be calling them on Monday.

Chase is the devil. I could have paid off my house with the money I've paid them, but instead, I owe more than I took out the loan for almost 8 years ago. Rat bastards.

FYI:

One of the FAQ's (?) or questions posed at the Inspector General's link that OP first posted asked if there is any hope that people forced out of their homes through foreclosure might GET THEM BACK.

The answer was something like: we'll see, or, maybe.

It might be a good idea for your parents to submit a brief query to them. They allow up to 2000 words when contacting them via their online contact section.

I wish you luck.

Got mine yesterday, but Rust hasn't exactly got a good reputation for keeping their timeline for payment in order. I'm not holding my breath.

It's not going to be much that any of us get compensated anyway, do the math! If it was divided equally its abot 850 per person. Most likely less than 500 per payment. That really doesn't do much!

To my understanding it was up to $125,000 per person and they would have to give modifications to those denied in the past

I believe that the determination of damages was based somewhat on the extent of the "damages" (of any type- financial, etc) that the homeowner experienced as a direct result of the foreclosure and/or any action associated with it. Unless it changed.

I am so upset. They said the postcard would give an amount and it does not. I really need to see what am getting to decide if I should try going against Chase on my own. And the pwople who answer the phones do not know a thing. Nothing at all. I am so fed up of waiting while Chase goes on taking advantage of others

There are 4.2 million people sharing 3.6 billion that's 850 "per person so my guess are lots of people will get a few hundred And VERY FEW will get more than that. They say people will get up to 125k not many there's not enough money for that. So let it go so you're not dissapointed.

Re: independent-foreclosure-review Important Updates
I don't understand, and cannot seem to find anything online, that explains how Litton/ocwen can determine what they owe to whom. They have tortured us for years, jerked us around, lied, lost paperwork, scheduled sheriff's sales then cancelled (without telling us). Now they are supposed to police themselves to determine what they owe us? Based on THEIR records?
They never seem to have our records, how can I trust this to be some kind of fair compensation for the hell they have put us through for the past four years?
When I called the toll free number I had to speak to a gentleman from India whose English was not that good, and he had no information that was not on the website.

Hey MP, me too...I think...

Initially when I contacted them, I was notified that I wouldn't qualify and then a few weeks ago, I received this notice from Rust that stated I should receive either a check or further instructions within 4-8 weeks.

Can't imagine how much I should be expecting to receive. Hope it's at least 4 figures hf

that would be awesome. Even though we threw away over $40K in that sham of a real estate "investment," I'd be happy with half of $15K

The only way that might happen would be if Fannie/Freddie or the servicers themselves still own them. If they've been sold to a new homeowner, it will never happen.

The Federal Reserve is attempting to recontract men and women and this is not positive. They may attempt to cross the line between civil to criminal depending on the contract and if men and women can not meet it. Generally the conditions would be toward failure if only subtle in appearance. There is an agenda. Beware.

Love Love.
