Fish Die Off Lake Erie - with bloody pics from minutes ago
I went down to look at the lake after the thaw and found the entire beach full of dead and the water dead and dieing fish. They're bleeding through their scales. When they wash up on shore you can see the water wash the blood away then more comes out. Some are swimming upside down and there are alot of small live ones close enough to grab with your hand (I wasn't putting mine in there). I only saw a couple that looked like they were partially eaten by scavengers.

Is there a nuclear generating station on the shores of Lake Erie? If so, have there been any accidents at that facility?

These fish look like they are being killed from the inside out!

NOT GOOD!!!

You're welcome!

That's what I like about this site; more up to the moment news that you'll find anywhere due to all the "reporters".

I know; I feel bad for them swimming around slowly dieing.

The seagulls and turkey vulchers are staying away so it will be messy for a while. Hopefully things clear up before the memorial weekend beach bonfire!

Although WIKI is generally manipulated garbage, I saw that fish bleeding thing once before in a lake so I decided WIKI was legit this one time.
Looks right based upon your description and pics.

The great lakes are in constant danger, Illinois is currently fighting and trying to prevent the Asian Carp from running wild in Lake Michigan. Also, there have been reports of people catching snake heads in these same canals. Throw on top of that the state of Indiana is always wanting to drop Mecury into the water.

A lot of those fish look like carp, wont miss them.
