Transcript for March 24, 2013 News:

[0:00]
Good morning folks. NASA released this article describing how the geocentric conjunction of Mars behind the Sun in a few weeks will create communication problems with the rover due to line-of-sight with the Sun. This will happen around April 19th, but it's got me thinking about Comet ISON which will disappear behind the Sun in the same fashion mid-July. My point is about where ISON will be at that time; declining trajectory into the orbital plane of the planets, directly between Mars and Jupiter. Folks, the time we can't monitor this comet is the time it will be smashing through the Asteroid Belt. Let's flip over our perspective, watch the comet come in from behind. I officially submit that NASA, in the interest of homeland security and the safety of the planet, turn one of the "Stereo" spacecraft to watch ISON's gauntlet run while we cannot. This would be an Elenin-like maneuver, except, unlike Elenin, they aren't telling the world this is a puny comet and there's nothing to worry about. This Comet ISON could do nearly anything if it hits some bigger rocks. And if this thing is going to change trajectory, especially if it's going to hit Mars, we need to know as soon as humanly possible. Most of you know it's set to pass just 2,000,000 miles from the North Pole of Mars about 2 months before it comes much, much closer to the Sun. If you did it with Elenin, you almost have to do it now.

[1:24]
Not much new weather news - Europe still has their cell moving east; it's mostly nice in the southwest Pacific, with some local storm warnings; 'US' southeast dealing with severe weather, while the north side of this low pressure system dumps snow.

[1:38]
You are looking at various, tiny solar eruptions that took place 3-5 days ago. There were more than a few very minor ejections, and we knew the impact wouldn't be major, but NOAA, NASA, and myself all expected yesterday's news to include a defined impact. We had to wait another day. Speed and density of the solar wind (in yellow and orange respectively) rising together midday, revealing the CME impact. Very weak, but it did take a shot at the magnetosphere, caused some significant inductions via the energy captured by our field, and the 'Kp Index' did hit unstable levels briefly.

[2:11]
The Earth footprint [has] definitely begun to come back around to the limb, and shifted south a bit. The active regions have been flaring as the crest out of view, so watch that today. The new active region turning in is mature, but docile.

[2:24]
Then we have the top story: The umbral fields were to dictate the beginning of the earthquake uptick watch. Since the last major watch, a few weeks ago, there has been only one 6-magnitude quake, a 6.1 in the South Sandwich Islands, ... [whereas] the global average is three per week. And, as you can see, I'm jabbering away here. That massive coronal hole is cresting in now, [and] while not yet directly Earth-facing, the forceful magnetic opening is visible and central; and we already have our first two significant tremors. I'll tell ya, it'd be great if this next watch could see an uptick of only the smaller 6's, like this, with no damage or death.

[2:59]
Planets get to have their say in a matter of days, a bunch of them. I'll leave you with some more solar shots. Eyes open, no fear, it's 6:45 AM Eastern Time and that's the news. Be safe everyone.

Transcript of news for March 25, 2013:

[0:00]
Good morning folks. Let's start by showing that you know more than some of the so-called "experts". Now, for the purposes of comment and critique; Nancy Atkinson, Senior Editor at "Universe Today", host of a NASA pod cast, and a NASA/JPL ambassador. She was the author of this article primarily showing the auroras that happened last week due to a strong CME impact. But she made a mistake I know most of you observers wouldn't make, saying the M1 flare caused the CME. Unlike traditional flares from sunspots that make CMEs, this was an erupting filament of plasma. You will remember that their eruptions rip through the umbral fields, and cause those bright arcs where the filament had been. It's called a "Hyder Flare" and is produced by the CME, not the other way around.

[0:47]
Looking at quakes - anything above 4-magnitude, east of the Cocos Plate border with the Caribbean, is significant. Took two yesterday. You will remember that we got our first two 6-magnitude quakes of the watch early yesterday, with the rest of the day throwing up 5's in the area; got growing tension there.

[1:03]
Coming to the umbral field - no doubt the coronal hole is becoming more geo-effective daily, but you should be noticing a short tilt and connection between the field bulges where we're looking for an opening. The SDO reveals that those field lines do, indeed, connect there, right on top of the hole. Looks like another day, or two perhaps, until the biggest opening. Around that same time the planets will begin lining up.

[1:26]
Europe: Top weather story is the low skimming the northern Mediterranean. Severe weather is possible near the coast, and precipitation is making it well north into the continent.

[1:35]
In the south, large, high pressure cells move counterclockwise - this one pulling up cold Antarctic air. Got storms in the north, with the heat likely moving to New Zealand this week.

[1:45]
The American focus is this counterclockwise low, opposite spins from the south. You should see how the clouds demonstrate the helix, and why it's warm in the lead, and colder in the back side. All weather sources are linked for you below, check them out.

[2:00]
Muon Network showing an increase in cosmic ray density; we're approaching 101. The instability, mentioned yesterday, was short-lived. Solar wind density (orange), speed (yellow) and temperature (green) fairly steady for the last 24 hours. And sticking with our ongoing coverage of [the] pitiful solar maximum, flaring is nil.

[2:21]
Earth's footprint took a jump to the Earth-facing southern position. On the right side you can see that the connections are spread, with some on the footprint, some following the sunspots around the back side, and three little piggies jumping way to the eastern limb to greet our new active region. We have minor development north and south. And while the south has more umbras and magnetic complexity, in terms of these active regions, the north fired first. This is actually the 2nd of two eruptions. But I said "first", so you know that the south is gonna do something, and this is about as good as it can be described too; "something". Just another of these energetic surface events in lieu of flaring.

Re: Official Suspicious0bserver Thread [VIDEOS][UPDATED]
Here is the transcription for the March 26, 2013 News:

[0:00]
Good morning folks. These signatures are not terribly large, but, whether pronounced or not, these L-waves were ripped across the planet by a strong earthquake that struck Guatemala yesterday evening. The strength was mitigated by its depth of 200 kilometers underground, residents barely felt it at the surface. But that makes three significant quakes in two days, and bona fide uptick to start this latest quake watch.

[0:25]
The umbral field has set the coronal opening in an earth-facing position, but it is thinner than expected. And the SDO reveals a weak field over top the otherwise prominent dark opening.

[0:36]
Another uptick we're following, outside the 6-magnitude rubric, is the Canary Islands quake swarm. Had two 4-pointers yesterday, amid hundreds of smaller tremors. Average there is one per day. This uptick has officially endured a week.

[0:50]
Full moon around the time of tomorrow's news release; that, the seismic uptick, and the coronal hole need to scootch [slang for 'move'] over and make room for some planets to get in the mix [at] that same time. Turning off the atmosphere on Stellarium [ [link to www.stellarium.org]] reveals the conjunctions occurring near the sun.

[1:06]
The southwest Pacific: This high pressure system is going to drive Antarctic breeze over southwest Australia and then sweep east. Meanwhile, a similar high over New Zealand creates a conflict of air masses in the middle, leading to heavy precipitation.

[1:23]
Severe cold warning in parts of the 'UK', especially because many residents remain without power as the Arctic freeze lingers still. That same low pressure creating the storms has moved well east, developed a few trailing lows, and the rain and snow will be less severe, but now covering a larger area.

[1:40]
Getting used to the new maps yet? Let's start with a big, counterclockwise low exiting New England. Major snow was dumped across the 'US'. Counterclockwise aspect should be apparent when viewing the 'GOES' satellite images. As that storm wanes, our next low has crept across the West Coast; we spied the spinning low pressure cell racing across the Pacific, [and it is] now moving up into the Rockies.

[2:04]
Cosmic ray density is elevated from yesterday, but steady and still below 101. Flaring has been completely absent, which is both [a] good and a bad thing. The solar wind was steady yesterday, but with one hitch at 19:00 UTC. One of the signs that our shield is weak, is its ability to get dinged off minor changes in the solar wind. No energetic flux or plasma penetration though.

[2:27]
Lastly, this is the "Velocity ENLIL Spiral"; Earth is that green dot to the right of the central Sun. You'll notice yellow engulfing the Earth, that is a speedy coronal hole stream of charged particles, plasma, and generally intensified solar wind. It is the secondary aspect of coronal holes, and we expect the solar wind impact from these Earth-facing holes tomorrow. The quake watch has hit, let's hope that's all we get. Eyes open, no fear, it's 6:15 AM Eastern Time and that's the news. Be safe everyone.

Transcription for March 27, 2013 news:

[0:00]
Good morning folks. This is "MAVEN", the Mars magneto-focused mission set to study everything from the Mars climate history, to solar wind effects on the Mars atmosphere. Think maybe we should use that magnetism to learn about Earth's climate? Apparently they do not.

[0:18]
Excellent picture of a dust storm atop the Arabian Peninsula, courtesy of NASA's Earth Observatory.

[0:24]
Folks, after a downtick that saw only one 6-magnitude quake over a ten day span, 'this' makes four such quakes in just under four days. The quake uptick watch is officially a success, and with no deaths, can't really complain. Canary Islands are still rocking away, but the 4-magnitudes have died down. Now, if you have not watched this area for long, it's done this every few months for a very long time. But after the volcano was born under water a few years ago, they put the acoustic device near the area, the one many of you focus on. But since then, the rumblings are nothing like they were before; they're much, much smaller. Also had a buoy enter "event mode", with a minor deviation, a few hours ago.

[1:05]
Australia: Southern hemisphere high pressure is counterclockwise, got two of them here, and their motion in the center conflicts where most of the moisture and precipitation can be found.

[1:14]
Europe: Got some remnants of the last storm sweeping over Italy, and snowing in the northeast. Hope you had time to dust yourself off for the next big low on her way to you.

[1:23]
Flood gauges across the country - this will get interesting next month with April showers and melting snow. Clouds raced across the Rockies last night, extending the southern portion of the low to nearly the Gulf states. The power of the low is still on the coast, however, depending on your local terrain, might see major precipitation totals here and north of the border into Canada. I've also got the National Warnings map linked for you below.

[1:47]
Switching to space weather: Gamma burst drought of twelve days is over, with a burst coming way to the celestial north. Russian Neutron Network and the Bartol Muon Monitor both showed decreasing cosmic ray density; likely due to the effects of an arriving coronal hole stream. On the ENLIL Spiral (density on top, speed on the bottom) the yellow on the bottom are coronal hole streams, very speedy. Notice the gaps seem to match the high density areas of the spiral above, this is a bunching of the solar wind before the speedy particles arrive; kind of like a shovel, or a broom. Now, coming back to our solar wind, as measured by ACE (Advanced Composition Explorer). You see the density, in orange, rises like the bunched up snow building ahead of the shovel blade, and afterwards, the speed and temperature begin to climb.

[2:33]
No geomagnetic storms expected, but the Fluxgate is showing magnetospheric disturbance; the energy is inducing a base line frequency; electron count hit the floor; 'GOES' suggests auroras will be afoot tonight, but also suggests the Sun partied too hard and is now sleeping through his solar max final. No flaring to speak of, and even a purely divided umbral region is magnetically homogeneous; all-red negative in the umbra there.

[2:59]
Venus, just below the sun; Mars is on the left, bigger than its immediately surrounding stars; and just below the arm you can see a Sun-diving comet headed in - let's watch her demise today.

[3:10]
Speaking of planets, they begin lining up right now, and the Moon is full as well. The umbral field has the dark coronal hole open to Earth, four significant quakes so far. Eyes open, no fear, it's 6:15 AM Eastern Time and that's the news. Be safe everyone.

Re: Official Suspicious0bserver Thread [VIDEOS][UPDATED]
Transcription for March 28. 2013 news:

[0:00]
Good morning folks. If you didn't catch last night's video, I suggest you check it out - especially with a quiet news day today.

[0:08]
A comet may hit Mars - this thing is back in the news again. I'm not talking about C/2012 S1 (ISON), but "Siding Spring"; there's an outside chance it'll hit Mars in late 2014. February 2nd and March 7th, of this year, we discussed that comet.

[0:23]
NOAA's Environmental Visualization Lab states that the winter ice peak in the Arctic passed two weeks ago, and is now melting.

[0:29]
NDBC shows one event at our favorite Alaskan buoy; a sudden, and pronounced, 10 to 12 foot drop in sea level, with no correlate wave. Might be another error.

[0:37]
Forgive the mistake in yesterday's news video, one person did die in the significant earthquake in Taiwan. The uptick rumblings continue at the Canary Islands, almost two weeks now. And if the past is any indication, we still have a little ways to go.

[0:51]
Southern hemisphere high pressure moving counterclockwise, pulling north on its right side; while the other counterclockwise high, to the east, pulls south at its left side where the two meet. That convergence of differing air masses is what drives the most significant weather on our planet.

[1:04]
North America lacks severe threats today; as this low creeps into Texas tonight, there could be minor storms. But it's mostly a "check your local weather" kind of day out west, while freezing air punishes the east as the high pressure builds into the Gulf states and into Florida; and we watch that low leave our shores, on the top right, only to approach Europe with the memory of that last storm probably still fresh in their minds. Here she comes.

[1:29]
Gamma bursts tend to come in pairs, don't they? Got another one last night from the Hercules constellation.

[1:34]
The coronal hole stream, identified in yesterday's video, peaked around the California lunch time; and is now tapering off as we enter its wake.

[1:41]
The solar wind gave a left hook to our magnetosphere - the energy captured by the field induced strong resonance from the base line; there was significant plasma missed by our shields, which reads as red ionospheric absorption; the charge particle flux and geomagnetic instability was evident; 'Kp' hopefully dropping back to stay there.

[2:00]
Not many sunspots - what "solar maximum"? The star player only has half the magnetism it needs to fire. The new guy, creeping over the limb now, is punching out some smaller flares.

[2:11]
Earth footprint - the magnetic connection between Earth and Sun connects on the north-central solar disc, between the east and west limbs, where the individual connectivity can be found. The umbral magnetic fields still show the coronal hole open to Earth. SDO reveals a weak field beginning to block Earth from its influence. We've had slight energetic flux, the coronal hole effect is waning, but the planets are lining up for days and the watch continues.

[2:36]
And to mention again about last night's video, might be review for many of you, but it can help expand our community. And I don't often ask for help sharing stuff like this, so I appreciate it, and I'm a little excited to witness the breadth of your influence. Eyes open, no fear, it's 6:15 AM Eastern Time and that's the news. Be safe everyone.

Really?

Why would anybody give me bad karma for this thread?!

I just wanted to have a thread dedicated to watching Suspicious0bservers news videos, and he is the best source on the net. How does my hard work and dedication deserve bad karma?

Re: Official Suspicious0bserver Thread [VIDEOS][UPDATED]

[0:00]
Good morning folks. Nice to get a day off from major quakes during the watch. A 5.5 in Chile was the top tremor after our watch saw one major quake over two weeks turn into four of them in four days.

[0:12]
The high pressure anomaly over Greenland; it is the negative Arctic oscillation aspect, and causing the cold to come down over mid-latitude. Where 2011 and 2012 saw the 'US' break daily heat records almost all year, the United States has been setting many cold records, like India and Europe did last year. In fact, the last two winters have seen extreme weather records of all types. The number one record set in the 'US', and across globe, being precipitation totals.

[0:37]
Speaking of the 'US' - strong low near north Texas is going to create the potential for severe weather; not just here at the yellow marker, but over a much broader area. This is [link to www.weather.gov] and a terrific local watch map for you.

[0:50]
Pressure map again - got a low just out of view; she is spinning towards the West Coast now. While the last storm appears to be lingering in the North Atlantic. I put Europe on watch for this two days ago, because I didn't see the invisible brick wall set to halt him in his tracks. Got some long arms though, and will begin affecting the region today.

[1:08]
I assume that most 'UK' and Euro folks know this website [UK/EU MET Office link in S0's description box], but just in case; it gives all the weather warnings for your area; the legend and icons are very easy to understand. You can break it down by country; for example, Spain with wind advisories, and Poland with mostly winter weather warnings.

[1:25]
Lastly, that convergence has finally made its way to new Zealand. Yes, please, mate; let's mitigate the near-nationwide drought.

[1:33]
'Bartol' - usually they take stuff like this off the charts, but I was here yesterday and that wasn't. This is no error; we took a huge cosmic ray influx, and it is visible on multiple stations. This may truly have caused the strange ionosphere readings yesterday, although, likely by the way of detector overload or similar error, because the actual readings made no sense and a good bit of our planet would've gotten baked. Still, I thought it was just an error, and clearly I was wrong. Add to that a second wave of a coronal hole stream. The yellow solar wind speed is rising back up. We know it is a second wave, because if they left at once [at the same time], the slower ones wouldn't have been here yet.

[2:11]
Our shield is not taking this well at all; this is major plasma penetration, and the inductions will obviously match if those two are in flux. Speaking of "flux"; electrons, magnetics, protons, 'Kp' on the rise again. But the most telling aspect is the Ovation Prime Auroral Gauge. High latitude watchers, get outside! The auroras are exploding right now.

[2:34]
The coronal hole may still be geo-effective, but is turning away now. We have a 6 day break in planetary alignments coming after today, and no major coronal hole set to turn in. Quake threat is definitely lessening, not gone yet. those bright areas turning in are new active regions; getting a solid look at these for today, magnetic classification coming tomorrow. I also direct your attention to a massive plasma filament dancing in the solar atmosphere. Let's keep an eye on him as he turns in too. Eyes open, no fear, it's 6:15 AM Eastern Time and that's the news. Be safe everyone.

Re: Official Suspicious0bserver Thread [VIDEOS][UPDATED]
[0:00]
Good morning folks. Had some above average rumblings off the California coastline; some said these hit 5-magnitude. Not far from Lima, Peru we had a solid mid-5 pointer, and took a couple similar tremors in the West Pacific and a bit inland.

[0:15]
Some northern areas made up for almost a month of monsoon in half a week. The convergence still dropping precipitation southward, dropped a tornado yesterday as well. Northern Australia and Northeast-facing Queensland coastline have the severe weather tonight.

[0:30]
Europe has fewer severe watches than previous weeks. The big low still spans the Atlantic, and the influences thinned in kind. Only a few moderate warnings to take in this afternoon for you guys.

[0:42]
Pre-sunrise USA shows most of the precipitation derived from that central low creeping over Texas. The severe watch area is dotted, cuts through Arkansas. You can watch 24 hours of development off that convergence 'here' [cloud animation]. Then, out west, the low is sitting, never flitting, still is sitting on that floating Pacific palace just outside our chamber door. [Semi-quote from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven"

[1:03]
Cosmic rays continue with strange readings, although neither shows large deviations from a flat line over time. The main difference is that we see bi-directional streaming of force and energy along both directions of the initial line, identified two days ago in the news addendum. The initial burst was unquestionably from just south and to the right of Aquarius. But now we see that the exact opposite direction plays a function too, which makes much more sense given that the Earth is somewhat open to the galaxy in that direction, if you will; no planets behind us.

[1:36]
Yellow, the solar wind speed, is dropping as we exit a speedier solar wind stream from a coronal hole. You can see the Fluxgate showing decreased pressure on the magnetosphere; plasma has stopped significant penetration into the ionosphere; inductions from captured energy are disappearing; energetic flux is returning to a smooth curve; and the 'Kp index' has moved well below storm levels.

[2:01]
Focus here is the green and the red coronal openings; they extend closest to the equator. And if a tilt opens up the green today, we could have a significant quake, but I'm much more focused on the back side of the red; it's still a few days away.

[2:14]
Earth Footprint is near dead center on the north. Looking over on the right we see almost all magnetic connectivity at that location.

[2:22]
Here are the active regions. And while we do have four beta spots, 'this' is the only story. Earth-facing quiet anomaly has lasted pretty much since November 2011. Let's see what you got. Leaving you with the Sun and the planets...Eyes open, no fear, it's 5:55 AM Eastern Time and that's the news. Be safe everyone.
