Can't wait until Wednesday night (biblical observed calendar). Quoting: mopar28m Gods' festivals, 5 days off from work. Much needed R&R. So you are looking forward to celebrating the murder of innocents in the passover? You don't have any problem with a story that wrongly alleges that GOD sent the angel of death to kill all the firstborn of Egypt? You don't have a problem with a story where the Pharoah was prepared to let the Israelites leave, and yet GOD allegedly kept hardening Pharoah's heart so Pharoah couldn't let the people leave? Can you for a second think of all the heartbreak families suffered in this appalling story when their innocent children were murdered? But the murder didn't stop with children. It was ALL the firstborn, or was it? Exodus 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. BUT wait the ANGEL of Death got it wrong. The angel only killed the fiorstborn Egytians and Cattle? Not all beasts? Exodus 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. How could a loving GOD come up with such a terrible event? Perhaps people should read the story in detail, noting how GOD allegedly kept hardening Pharaoah's heart, and how GOD allegedly killed all the innocents based on that heart hardening. How can anyone or any group of people believe and celebrate this offensive story? Would we be offended if some crazies had a meal to celebrate the holocaust? Of course we would it would be OUTRAGEOUS! WAKE UP! |

Among the church fathers, Cyprian speaks of Christ as Sol Verus, the "true sun," and Ambrose names him Sol Novus Noster, "our new sun". An interesting fact revealed in the old Roman calendars is that on the 25th of December each year they commemorated the new birth of Sol Invictus, the "unconquered sun." These early Christians used many hymns addressed to the Christ-Sun or to the Christos-Spirit, or to the Logos or Word. These terms were taken from the ancient Greek Mysteries; and the composition of these hymns, and the words could easily be construed as hymns to the sun. Which indeed was exactly what they were" ------------------------------- Deuteronomy 4:19 "And when you look up into the sky and see the sun, moon, and stars--all the forces of heaven--don't be seduced into worshiping them. The LORD your God gave them to all the peoples of the earth." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1880593 your entire premise was just destroyed with a single bible verse. Ezekiel 8:14 Then he brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the LORD, and I saw women sitting there, mourning the god Tammuz. Tammuz was a dying/resurrecting 'son of god'. The women weeped because he was crucified. um ok, and? once again some fool assumes correlation equals causation. you probably think Jesus was the bright yellow ball in the sky because sun and son sound the same linguistically too right? there is no correlation of any depth of tammuz and Christ only superficial ones to an ignorant mind. lol case and point |

Take note, the bible was written by men. All religions were created by men. There is no god, there will never be a god.
