Only 2 checkers as well, with many people standing in line to pay. Meanwhile there was a whole wack of workers standing in a circle doing their Wallyworld cheer. I walked up to the store manager, asked him to stop the creepy cult like behavior and put some f*cken clerks on the checkout. He came back with "we are mandated to do the cheer" I repeated "It's creepy and cult like, if you have to do it, do it somewhere where I as a shopper will not be subjected to it, now open some registers." I could see the other workers smirking as the manager sent them off to open tills. Two of the workers approached me and thanked me, they also find the cheer creepy and cult like. Sigh, I should know better than to shop there, but Costco was not yet open and I needed litter for the kitty's shitter. |

Very few people in the store. I knew the lady that was ringing mine up and she said seven people called in. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31315433 Then I ran across this article and the employees are saying: "it’s piling up in aisles and in the back of stores because Wal-Mart doesn’t have enough bodies to restock the shelves" I don't believe it's just a staffing problem. Maybe other countries aren't shipping their crappy products anymore. Something is going on. [link to www.bloomberg.com] I live in Northeast Texas and I was at my local Walmart Sunday also. Found the same thing. Really strange! I was there late too. Normally they have the freight out and are restocking, but not that night. |

I am very concerned. Even so much that I am only working 4 days a week and I run the place. I can afford to take a pay cut. My employees CANT. So I am sacrificing one day a week right now. I was at the mall a few weeks ago and could not believe how empty the stores were. There should have been huge clearance racks of winter for the spring items coming in. There were no clearance racks anywhere. I have worked retail for 25 years. I have never seen this. There is always a clearance section. Especially during the season switch times. |

Longer lines then normal at any store i go too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24473407 I used to work in a grocery store. The one I worked for cut down on employess and employee hours because - at least they said it was because - they couldn't afford to pay them. It was just awful how those of us who still maintained hours were overworked...and this happening while we were being told there'd be a hold on wage increases for apx. two years. After about a half of a year of it I put in my two weeks notice and moved on. Given Walmart's wealth, though, I fail to see that this is their problem. A lack of humanity, perhaps, but not a lack of wherewithal to have some well paid employees. They are not struggling like the smaller store chains. The store I worked at had its finacial problems begin when Walmart opened their store in the small town. The store I worked for had been the only grocery store for at least a 45 min. drive. BTW, youse guys-- ALL Walmart stores are a portal to Hell. You shouldn't go there without having sprayed some ClingOn BeGone Hairspray on your noggins.
